Abu Hatim ibn Hibban al-Busti: He was prone to many errors despite the scarcity of his narration, frequently contradicting trustworthy narrators in what he narrates from established authorities. It is not permissible to use his narrations as evidence. Muslim ibn Ibrahim narrated from him, and Hisham, Ibrahim ibn Abi Harah narrated from him. He mentioned him once among the trustworthy narrators.

He narrated from Ibrahim ibn Abi Harah, and Ulbayy ibn Ahmar, and Wa'dah ibn Thabit, and Abu Ukashah al-Hamdani, and Utbah, and Mazidah ibn Jabir, and Abu Hariz, and Ubayd Allah ibn Abi Bakr ibn Anas, and Utbah al-Bakri. Wakee', Abu Muhsin Husayn ibn Numayr, Hisham, Ubayd Allah ibn Musa, Muslim ibn Ibrahim, and Ahmad ibn U narrated from him
Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani: Weak

al-Dhahabi: Feeble, from al-Sha'bi
Yahya ibn Ma'in: Weak in Hadith, and in a narration by Uthman ibn Sa'id al-Darimi, he said: He is nothing, I do not know him. And in a narration by Ibn Mahriz, he said: Hisham narrates from him, and he was not trustworthy
