Abu Hatim al-Razi: The most reliable narrators are the companions of Anas ibn Malik, then Qatadah. He narrated many Hadiths, and his name was mentioned in the letters.
Abu Hatim ibn Hibban al-Busti: He was among the most knowledgeable people in the Quran and Fiqh, and one of the Hadith memorizers of his time, and he practiced Tadlis.
Abu Dawud al-Sijistani: Qatadah narrated from thirty men whom he did not hear from, and the belief in predestination is not proven from Qatadah.

Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani: Trustworthy, Upright. In the introduction of al-Fath: He sometimes practiced Tadlis. He mentioned him in the third category of Tadlis narrators, which is the category whose Hadiths are not accepted unless they explicitly state that they heard it. He once said: One of the well-known reliable narrators, he was used as an example in memorization, except that he sometimes practiced Tadlis. He was accepted as an authority by the group.

Al-Dhahabi: He counted him among the Tadlis narrators in his poem about them.
Bakr ibn Abdullah al-Muzani: I have not seen anyone who is more memorizing than him, nor more likely to convey the Hadith as he heard it.
Sa'id ibn al-Musayyib al-Qurashi: No one from Iraq came to me who is more memorizing than Qatadah.
Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi: Qatadah is more memorizing than fifty like Humayd al-Tawil.
Ali ibn al-Madini: Qatadah did not hear anything from Muslim ibn Yasar.
Muhammad ibn Ishaq ibn Khuzaymah: He mentioned him in al-Tawhid and said: The most knowledgeable person of his time.
Muhammad ibn Ismail al-Bukhari: He narrated many Hadiths. And once: The hearing of Qatadah from Ibn Abi Baridah is not known.
Muhammad ibn Sa'd, the scribe of al-Waqidi: Trustworthy, reliable, an authority in Hadith.
Muhammad ibn Sirin al-Basri: The most memorizing of people.
