Abu Ahmad ibn Adi al-Jurjani: Good narration from the people of Mosul, and he has unique and strange narrations from them. I have not seen any of our sheikhs who narrated from him mention him except with good or speak about him in the chapter of Hadith. He was considered trustworthy by them.
Abu Hatim al-Razi: He is alright.
Abu Hatim ibn Hibban al-Busti: He mentioned him among the trustworthy.
Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili: He used to speak ill of him.
Ahmad ibn Shuayb al-Nasai: Trustworthy, possessor of Hadith.
Ibn Hajar al-'Asqalani: Trustworthy Hafez.
Al-Khatib al-Baghdadi: Good memorization, abundant in Hadith.
Al-Daraqutni: Trustworthy.
Al-Dhahabi: The Hafez.
Al-Mizzi: One of the abundant Hafez.
Salih ibn Muhammad al-Jazara: Trustworthy, intelligent.
Abdullah ibn Ahmad ibn Hanbal: Trustworthy.
Ubayd al-'Ajli: He used to magnify his matter and elevate his status.
Ali ibn al-Madini: He used to prefer him.
Muhammad ibn Ghaalib Tamtam: Trustworthy, he was from the people of Hadith.
Muslim ibn al-Qasim al-Andalusi: Trustworthy, possessor of Hadith.
Yahya ibn Ja'far al-Baykandi: He was understanding of Hadith and its defects.
Ya'qub ibn Sufyan al-Faswi: Trustworthy.
Ya'qub ibn Musaddad al-Qallusi: Like Ali ibn al-Madini, meaning: in the knowledge of Hadith.
