Abu Bakr al-Bayhaqi: Trustworthy
Abu Ja'far al-'Uqayli: He is confused in the narration of Nafi'.
Abu Hatim al-Razi: Trustworthy
Abu Hatim bin Hibban al-Busti: Sa'id al-Maqburi narrated from Abu Hurairah and he narrated from his father from Abu Hurairah. When Ibn Ajlan mixed up his scrolls and did not distinguish between them, he mixed them up and made them all from Abu Hurairah. Therefore, it is not permissible to rely on his narrations except for what the trustworthy and accurate narrators narrate from him.
Abu Zur'a al-Razi: One of the trustworthy
Ahmad ibn Hanbal: He was asked about Muhammad ibn Ajlan and Musa ibn Uqba, 'Which one is more pleasing to you?' He said: 'Both are trustworthy, I do not consider them to be close.'
Ahmad ibn Shu'aib al-Nasa'i: Trustworthy
Ahmad ibn Salih al-Jalil: Trustworthy
Ibn Hajar al-'Asqalani: Saduq (truthful). The hadiths of Abu Hurairah were mixed up on him. And once: Saduq (truthful), famous for having some issues with his memorization.
Al-Dhahabi: His hadith did not reach his true rank, so it is not excluded from the rank of Hasan.
Jarir ibn Abd al-Hamid al-Dabbi: I have not seen anyone from the people of Medina who resembles him, and he was like the red ruby.
Zakaria ibn Yahya al-Saji: One of the people of truth. Malik did not narrate from him except a little.
Sufyan ibn Uyainah: Trustworthy. And once: He used to praise him.
Ali ibn al-Madini: Ibn Abi Dhi'b is more accurate in the narration of Sa'id ibn Abi Sa'id than Ibn Ajlan. And once: No one is more accurate in the narration of Sa'id ibn Abi Sa'id al-Maqburi than Ibn Abi Dhi'b, Laith ibn Sa'd, and Muhammad ibn Ishaq. These three support the hadiths of Ibn Ajlan in which he used to err.
Malik ibn Anas: He praised him well.
Muhammad ibn Sa'd Katb al-Waqidi: Trustworthy, narrates many hadiths.
Muhammad bin Abdullah Al-Makhrami: There was no one in Medina more similar to the people of knowledge than him. I used to compare him to a ruby among scholars.
Yahya ibn Sa'id al-Qattan: I do not know except that I heard Ibn Ajlan say: Sa'id al-Maqburi used to narrate from his father, from Abu Hurairah, and from a man, from Abu Hurairah, so they were mixed up for me, so I made them all from Abu Hurairah.
Yahya ibn Ma'in: Trustworthy. And once: Trustworthy, more trustworthy than Muhammad ibn Amr ibn 'Alqamah. No one doubts this. Dawud ibn Qais used to sit with Ibn Ajlan to memorize from him, and it is said that they were mixed up for Ibn Ajlan, meaning in the hadith of Sa'id al-Maqburi.
Ya'qub ibn Shaybah al-Suddusi: One of the trustworthy
