Abu Abd Allah al-Hakim al-Naysaburi: There is nothing wrong with him.
Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani: Trustworthy, although al-Saji considered him lenient without proof. He also said: Al-Azdi does not consider his narrations strong. Ibn Abd al-Barr said in al-Tamhid that he is weak, and no other Imam preceded him in this.
