Abu Ja'far al-'Uqayli: He mentioned a Hadith from him and said: It is not narrated from him by anyone else, and he is not known except through it.
Abu Hatim ibn Hibban al-Busti: He mentioned him among the trustworthy narrators.
Ibn Hajar al-'Asqalani: Lenient in Hadith.
Al-Dhahabi: A narrator of Hadith and a traveler.
Muhammad ibn Waddah al-Qurtubi: An old Sheikh of Kufa, I saw him memorizing.
Authors of Tahrir Taqrib al-Tahdhib: Saduq (truthful) Hasan al-Hadith (good in Hadith). A group narrated from him, including Abu Dawud - and he only narrated from trustworthy narrators. Ibn Hibban also considered him trustworthy.
