Muhammad ibn Ismail al-Bukhari: He mentioned him in al-Tarikh al-Kabir and included a Hadith from him indicating his Companionship, and mentioned him again and included a Hadith from him indicating he was a Tabi'i who heard from Anas
Muhammad ibn Jarir al-Tabari: Majhul (unknown), no proof can be established through him
Authors of Tahrir Taqrib al-Tahdhib: Saduq (truthful), Hasan al-Hadith (good in Hadith), as a group narrated from him, and Ibn Hibban mentioned him in al-Thiqat
