Abu Hatim Al-Razi: He was a companion (of the Prophet)
Ibn Hajar Al-Asqalani: He was appointed commander of the armies in the conquest of the Byzantines during the reign of Muawiyah. He was among the younger companions. He was a very strong man, and it was said: "Take this slave girl, for a Roman slave girl gave birth to your father." Abdullah was among the captives of Bani Fazarah, and the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) gave him to his daughter Fatima. She emancipated him, and he was young, so he grew up with her.
