Abu Ahmad ibn Adi al-Jurjani: Truthful, he has sound hadiths and straight narrations, and his hadith is not bad. I did not find anything objectionable in his hadith, so I mention him. Most of what is narrated from him is from his son Wuqai', and trustworthy people other than Wuqai' have narrated from him.
Abu al-Fath al-Azdi: They criticize him, and he is not considered satisfactory by them.
Abu Hatim al-Razi: His hadith is written down, but he is not relied upon.
Abu Hatim ibn Hibban al-Busti: He inverts chains of narration and elevates mursal reports.
Abu Dawud al-Sijistani: Trustworthy
Ahmad ibn Shu'aib al-Nasa'i: There is nothing wrong with him.
Ahmad ibn Salih al-Jalil: There is nothing wrong with him.
Al-Daraqutni: He is not reliable, and he is very prone to errors. He was asked, 'Is he considered reliable?' He said, 'No.'
Al-Dhahabi: There was weakness and difficulty in his hadith.
Muhammad ibn Isma'il al-Bukhari: Truthful
Muhammad ibn Sa'd Katb al-Waqidi: He was weak in hadith and had difficulty in hadith, but he relied on him.
Muhammad ibn Umar al-Mawsili: Weak
Authors of Tahrir Taqrib al-Tahdhib: Good in hadith
Hishām ibn Abd al-Malik al-Tayalisi: Trustworthy
Yahya ibn Ma'in: Weak in hadith, and once: There is nothing wrong with him, and once: Trustworthy, and once: He accused him of lying and said: He was a fabricator of hadith.
