It was narrated that Abu Huraira (رضي الله تعالى عنه) said : "The Iqama for prayer was said and the people stood in rows, and the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) came out. Then when he stood in the place where he prayed, he remembered that he had not performed Ghusl. He said to the people : 'Stay where you are.' Then he went back to his house, then he came out with his head dripping with water. He performed Ghusl while we were standing in our rows."

ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ نماز کے لیے اقامت کہی گئی، تو لوگوں نے اپنی صفیں درست کیں، اور رسول اللہ ﷺ حجرے سے نکل کر نماز پڑھنے کی جگہ پر آ کر کھڑے ہوئے، پھر آپ کو یاد آیا کہ غسل نہیں کیا ہے ۱؎ تو آپ نے لوگوں سے فرمایا: تم اپنی جگہوں پر رہو ، پھر آپ واپس اپنے گھر گئے پھر نکل کر ہمارے پاس آئے، اور آپ کے سر سے پانی ٹپک رہا تھا، اور ہم صف باندھے کھڑے تھے۔
Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) kahtay hain kay namaz kay liye iqamat kahi gayi, to logon ne apni safain durust ki, aur Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) hajr ay se nikal kar namaz padhnay ki jagah par aa kar khade huye, phir aap ko yaad aaya kay ghusl nahin kiya hai 1, to aap ne logon se farmaya: Tum apni jagahon par raho, phir aap wapis apne ghar gaye phir nikal kar hamare pass aaye, aur aap kay sar se pani tapk raha tha, aur hum saf bandhe khade thay.
أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ كَثِيرٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، عَنِ الزُّبَيْدِيِّ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، وَالْوَلِيدُ، عَنِ الأَوْزَاعِيِّ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ أُقِيمَتِ الصَّلاَةُ فَصَفَّ النَّاسُ صُفُوفَهُمْ وَخَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم حَتَّى إِذَا قَامَ فِي مُصَلاَّهُ ذَكَرَ أَنَّهُ لَمْ يَغْتَسِلْ فَقَالَ لِلنَّاسِ " مَكَانَكُمْ " . ثُمَّ رَجَعَ إِلَى بَيْتِهِ فَخَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا يَنْطِفُ رَأْسُهُ فَاغْتَسَلَ وَنَحْنُ صُفُوفٌ .
