Abu Al-Ash'ath narrated that he heard Aws bin Aws (رضي الله تعالى عنه), the Companion of the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) say that Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said, ‘whoever performs Ghusl on Friday and washes, and comes early to the masjid, walking not riding, and sits close to the Imam and listens attentively and does not engage in idle speech, for every step he takes he will have (the reward of) a year's worth of good deeds’.

اوس بن اوس رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا: جو شخص جمعہ کے دن غسل کرے، اپنی بیوی کو غسل کرائے، صبح سویرے ہی جمعہ کے لیے نکلے، شروع خطبہ ہی سے موجود رہے، پیدل چل کر مسجد جائے، سواری نہ کرے، امام سے قریب بیٹھے، اور خاموش رہے کوئی لغو کام نہ کرے، تو اس کے ہر قدم پر ایک سال کے عمل کا ثواب ملے گا ۔
Us bin Aus (رضي الله تعالى عنه) kehte hain ke Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: Jo shakhs jum'ah ke din ghusl kare, apni biwi ko ghusl karaye, subah sawere hi jum'ah ke liye nikle, shuru khutbah hi se maujood rahe, paidal chal kar masjid jaye, sawari na kare, imam se qareeb baithe, aur khamosh rahe koi laghu kaam na kare, to uske har qadam par ek saal ke amal ka thawab milega.
أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ كَثِيرٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ بْنِ جَابِرٍ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا الأَشْعَثِ، حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّهُ، سَمِعَ أَوْسَ بْنَ أَوْسٍ، صَاحِبَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " مَنِ اغْتَسَلَ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ وَغَسَّلَ وَغَدَا وَابْتَكَرَ وَمَشَى وَلَمْ يَرْكَبْ وَدَنَا مِنَ الإِمَامِ وَأَنْصَتَ وَلَمْ يَلْغُ كَانَ لَهُ بِكُلِّ خُطْوَةٍ عَمَلُ سَنَةٍ " .
