Simak narrated, ‘I asked Jabir (رضي الله تعالى عنه), did the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) deliver the Khutba standing?’ He said, ‘The Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) used to deliver the Khutba standing, then he would sit for a while, then stand up again’.

سماک کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے جابر رضی اللہ عنہ سے پوچھا: کیا رسول اللہ ﷺ کھڑے ہو کر خطبہ دیتے تھے؟ تو انہوں نے کہا: رسول اللہ ﷺ کھڑے ہو کر خطبہ دیتے تھے، پھر آپ کچھ دیر بیٹھتے تھے پھر کھڑے ہو جاتے تھے۔

أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ، قَالَ سَأَلْتُ جَابِرًا أَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَخْطُبُ قَائِمًا قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَخْطُبُ قَائِمًا ثُمَّ يَقْعُدُ قَعْدَةً ثُمَّ يَقُومُ .
