Salim narrated that his father said, ‘Umar bin A-Khattab (رضي الله تعالى عنه), found a Hullah of Istibraq in the market. He took it and brought it to the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) and said, ‘O Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم), why don't you buy this and adorn yourself with it for the two Eids and when (meeting) the delegations?’ The Apostle of Allah ( صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said, ‘This is the clothing of one who has no share in the Hereafter’, or ‘This is worn by one who has no share in the Hereafter’. Then as much time passed as Allah (جَلَّ ذُو) willed, then the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) sent to Umar (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a garment made of Dibaj. He brought it to the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) and said, ‘O Apostle of Allah, you said that this is the clothing of one who has no share in the Hereafter, then you sent this to me?’ The Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said, ‘Sell it and use the money for whatever you need’.

عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہم کہتے ہیں کہ عمر بن خطاب رضی اللہ عنہ نے بازار میں موٹے ریشمی کپڑے کا ایک جوڑا ( بکتے ہوئے ) پایا، تو اسے لیا، اور اسے لے کر رسول اللہ ﷺ کے پاس آئے، اور آپ سے عرض کیا: اللہ کے رسول! اسے خرید لیں، اور عید کے لیے اور وفود سے ملتے وقت اسے پہنیں، تو رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا: یہ اس شخص کا لباس ہے جس کا ( آخرت میں ) کوئی حصہ نہ ہو گا، یا اسے تو وہی پہنے گا جس کا ( آخرت میں ) کوئی حصہ نہ ہو گا ، تو عمر رضی اللہ عنہ ٹھہرے رہے جب تک اللہ نے چاہا، پھر رسول اللہ ﷺ نے ان کے پاس باریک ریشمی کپڑے کا ایک جبہ بھیجا، تو وہ اسے لے کر رسول اللہ ﷺ کے پاس آئے، اور عرض کیا: اللہ کے رسول! آپ نے فرمایا تھا کہ یہ اس شخص کا لباس ہے جس کا ( آخرت میں ) کوئی حصہ نہیں، پھر آپ نے اسے میرے پاس بھیج دیا؟ تو آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا: اسے بیچ دو، اور اس سے اپنی ضرورت پوری کرو ۔
Abdul-Allah bin Umar (رضي الله تعالى عنه) kehte hain ke Umar bin Khatab (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ne bazaar mein mote reshmi kapde ka ek jora ( bikte hue ) paya, to use liya, aur use le kar Rasul-Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke pas aaye, aur aap se arz kiya: Allah ke Rasul! Ise khareed lein, aur Eid ke liye aur wufud se milte waqt use pehnein, to Rasul-Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: ye us shakhs ka libas hai jis ka ( akhirat mein ) koi hissa nahin hoga, ya use to wahi pehnega jis ka ( akhirat mein ) koi hissa nahin hoga, to Umar (رضي الله تعالى عنه) thahre rahe jab tak Allah ne chaha, phir Rasul-Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne un ke pas bariek reshmi kapde ka ek jubba bheja, to woh use le kar Rasul-Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke pas aaye, aur arz kiya: Allah ke Rasul! Aap ne farmaya tha ke ye us shakhs ka libas hai jis ka ( akhirat mein ) koi hissa nahin, phir aap ne use mere pas bhej diya? To aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: use bech do, aur us se apni zarurat puri karo 1؎.
أَخْبَرَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ، عَنِ ابْنِ وَهْبٍ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ، وَعَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ وَجَدَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ - رضى الله تعالى عنه - حُلَّةً مِنْ إِسْتَبْرَقٍ بِالسُّوقِ فَأَخَذَهَا فَأَتَى بِهَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ابْتَعْ هَذِهِ فَتَجَمَّلْ بِهَا لِلْعِيدِ وَالْوَفْدِ . فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " إِنَّمَا هَذِهِ لِبَاسُ مَنْ لاَ خَلاَقَ لَهُ أَوْ إِنَّمَا يَلْبَسُ هَذِهِ مَنْ لاَ خَلاَقَ لَهُ " . فَلَبِثَ عُمَرُ مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ ثُمَّ أَرْسَلَ إِلَيْهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم بِجُبَّةِ دِيبَاجٍ فَأَقْبَلَ بِهَا حَتَّى جَاءَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قُلْتَ " إِنَّمَا هَذِهِ لِبَاسُ مَنْ لاَ خَلاَقَ لَهُ " . ثُمَّ أَرْسَلْتَ إِلَىَّ بِهَذِهِ . فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " بِعْهَا وَتُصِبْ بِهَا حَاجَتَكَ " .
