Muawiyah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that he cut a little from the ends of the hair of the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) with the edge of an arrow that I had with me, after he had circumambulated the House, and performed Sa’i between As-Safa and Al-Marwah, during the ten days. Qais, the people rebuked Muawiya (رضي الله تعالى عنه) for that.

معاویہ رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ ذی الحجہ کے پہلے دہے میں بیت اللہ کے طواف اور صفا و مروہ کی سعی کر چکنے کے بعد میں نے رسول اللہ ﷺ کے بال کے کناروں کو اپنے پاس موجود ایک تیر کے پھل سے کاٹے۔ قیس بن سعد کہتے ہیں: لوگ معاویہ پر اس حدیث کی وجہ سے نکیر کرتے تھے ۔
Muawiyah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) kehte hain ke dhi al-hijja ke pehle dahe mein baitullah ke tawaf aur safa wa marwa ki sa'i kar chuke ke baad maine rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke baal ke kinaron ko apne pas maujud aik teer ke phal se kaate. أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ، قَالَ أَخَذْتُ مِنْ أَطْرَافِ شَعْرِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم بِمِشْقَصٍ كَانَ مَعِي بَعْدَ مَا طَافَ بِالْبَيْتِ وَبِالصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ فِي أَيَّامِ الْعَشْرِ . قَالَ قَيْسٌ وَالنَّاسُ يُنْكِرُونَ هَذَا عَلَى مُعَاوِيَةَ .
