Chapter: A Vow Does Not Bring Anything Forward Nor Put It Back

باب النَّذْرِ لاَ يُقَدِّمُ شَيْئًا وَلاَ يُؤَخِّرُهُ ‏‏

Sunan an-Nasa'i 3803

Abdullah bin Buraidah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that his father said, the Apostle of Allah ( صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said, 'whoever says, I have nothing to do with Islam, if he is lying then he is as he said, and if he is telling the truth, his Islam will not be sound.'


Grade: Sahih

عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا:  نذر نہ کسی  ( مقدر )  چیز کو آگے کرتی ہے نہ پیچھے، البتہ یہ ایک ایسی چیز ہے جس سے بخیل سے  ( کچھ مال )  نکال لیا جاتا ہے ۔

Abdul-Allah ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a kehte hain ke Rasul-Allah salla-Allahu alaihi wa sallam ne farmaya: Najar na kisi (muqaddar) cheez ko aage karti hai na peeche, balke yeh ek aisi cheez hai jis se bukheil se (kuchh maal) nikal liya jata hai.

أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُرَّةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏"‏ النَّذْرُ لاَ يُقَدِّمُ شَيْئًا وَلاَ يُؤَخِّرُهُ إِنَّمَا هُوَ شَىْءٌ يُسْتَخْرَجُ بِهِ مِنَ الشَّحِيحِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏

Sunan an-Nasa'i 3804

It was narrated from 'Abdullah bin Yasar, from Qutailah, a woman from Juhainah, that a Jew came to the Prophet and said: You are setting up rivals (to Allah) and associating others (with Him). You say: 'Whatever Allah wills and you will,' and you say: 'By the Ka'bah.' So the Prophet commanded them, if they wanted to swear an oath, to say: By the Lord of the Ka'bah; and to say: Whatever Allah wills, then what you will.


Grade: Sahih

ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا:  ( اللہ تعالیٰ فرماتا ہے )  نذر ابن آدم کے پاس کوئی ایسی چیز نہیں لا سکتی جسے میں نے اس کے لیے مقدر نہ کیا ہو، البتہ یہ ایک ایسی چیز ہے جس سے بخیل سے  ( کچھ مال )  نکال لیا جاتا ہے  ۔

Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se riwayat hai ke Rasulullah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya:  ( Allah Ta'ala farmata hai )  Nazar ibn Adam ke pas koi aisi cheez nahin la sakti jise mein ne uske liye muqaddar nah kiya ho, balke yeh ek aisi cheez hai jis se bakhil se  ( kuchh maal )  nikal liya jata hai  

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزِّنَادِ، عَنِ الأَعْرَجِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏"‏ لاَ يَأْتِي النَّذْرُ عَلَى ابْنِ آدَمَ شَيْئًا لَمْ يُقَدِّرْهُ عَلَيْهِ وَلَكِنَّهُ شَىْءٌ يُسْتَخْرَجُ بِهِ مِنَ الْبَخِيلِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏
