Chapter: Slaughtering Well

باب حُسْنِ الذَّبْحِ ‏‏

Sunan an-Nasa'i 4412

Shaddad bin Aws (رضئ للا تعالی عنہ) narrated that the Apostle of Allah (صلى للا عليه و آله وسلم) said, ‘Allah (جَلَّ ذُو) has decreed proficiency in all things, so when you kill, kill well, and when you slaughter, slaughter well. Let one of you sharpen his blade and spare suffering to the animal he slaughters.’

شداد بن اوس رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”اللہ تعالیٰ نے احسان ( اچھے سلوک اور برتاؤ ) کو ہر چیز میں فرض کیا ہے، لہٰذا جب تم قتل کرو تو اچھی طرح کرو، اور جب ذبح کرو تو اچھی طرح کرو، اور تم اپنی چھریاں تیز کر لیا کرو اور جانور کو ( ذبح کرتے وقت ) آرام پہنچاؤ“۔

Shidad bin Aws (رضي الله تعالى عنه) kehte hain ke Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: "Allah Ta'ala ne ihsan (acheh sulook aur bartao) ko har cheez mein farz kiya hai, lihaza jab tum qatl karo to acheh tarah karo, aur jab zabh karo to acheh tarah karo, aur tum apni chhriyaan teez kar liya karo aur janwar ko (zabh karte waqt) aaram pahunchaoo".

أَخْبَرَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ حُرَيْثٍ أَبُو عَمَّارٍ، قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا جَرِيرٌ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ خَالِدٍ الْحَذَّاءِ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلاَبَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي الأَشْعَثِ الصَّنْعَانِيِّ، عَنْ شَدَّادِ بْنِ أَوْسٍ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏"‏ إِنَّ اللَّهَ كَتَبَ الإِحْسَانَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَىْءٍ فَإِذَا قَتَلْتُمْ فَأَحْسِنُوا الْقِتْلَةَ وَإِذَا ذَبَحْتُمْ فَأَحْسِنُوا الذَّبْحَ وَلْيُحِدَّ أَحَدُكُمْ شَفْرَتَهُ وَلْيُرِحْ ذَبِيحَتَهُ ‏"‏ ‏.‏

Sunan an-Nasa'i 4413

Shadad bin Aws (رضئ للا تعالی عنہ) narrated, ‘I heard two things from the Apostle of Allah (صلى للا عليه و آله وسلم). He said, ‘Allah (جَلَّ ذُو) has decreed proficiency in all things, so when you kill, kill well, and when you slaughter, slaughter well. Let one of you sharpen his blade and spear suffering to the animal he slaughters.’


Grade: Sahih

شداد بن اوس رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے نبی اکرم ﷺ سے سن کر دو باتیں یاد رکھیں ہیں، آپ نے فرمایا: ”اللہ تعالیٰ نے ہر چیز میں احسان ( اچھے سلوک اور برتاؤ ) فرض کیا ہے، لہٰذا جب تم قتل کرو تو اچھی طرح کرو، اور جب تم ذبح کرو تو اچھی طرح کرو اور تم اپنی چھریاں تیز کر لو تاکہ تم اپنے جانور کو آرام دے سکو“۔

Shidad bin Aws (رضي الله تعالى عنه)u kehte hain ke main ne Nabi Akram (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se sunkar do baatein yaad rakhin hain, Aap ne farmaya: “Allah Ta'ala ne har cheez mein ihsan (acheh suluk aur bartao) farz kiya hai, lihaza jab tum qatl karo to acheh tarah karo, aur jab tum zabh karo to acheh tarah karo aur tum apni chhrien tez kar lo taka tum apne janwar ko aaram de sako“.

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلاَبَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي الأَشْعَثِ، عَنْ شَدَّادِ بْنِ أَوْسٍ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ مِنَ النَّبِيِّ، صلى الله عليه وسلم اثْنَتَيْنِ فَقَالَ ‏"‏ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ كَتَبَ الإِحْسَانَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَىْءٍ فَإِذَا قَتَلْتُمْ فَأَحْسِنُوا الْقِتْلَةَ وَإِذَا ذَبَحْتُمْ فَأَحْسِنُوا الذَّبْحَ وَلْيُحِدَّ أَحَدُكُمْ شَفْرَتَهُ ثُمَّ لِيُرِحْ ذَبِيحَتَهُ ‏"‏ ‏.‏

Sunan an-Nasa'i 4414

Shaddad bin Aws (رضئ للا تعالی عنہ) narrated, ‘two things that I memorized from the Apostle of Allah (صلى للا عليه و آله وسلم), he said, ‘Allah (جَلَّ ذُو) has decreed proficiency in all things, so when you kill, kill well, and when you slaughter, slaughter well. Let one of you sharpen his blade and spare suffering to the animal he slaughters.’


Grade: Sahih

شداد بن اوس رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ دو چیزیں ہیں جو میں نے رسول اللہ ﷺ سے سن کر یاد کی ہیں: ”اللہ تعالیٰ نے ہر چیز میں احسان ( اچھے سلوک اور برتاؤ ) کو فرض کیا ہے، لہٰذا جب تم قتل کرو تو اچھی طرح کرو، اور جب تم ذبح کرو تو اچھی طرح کرو۔ تم اپنی چھریاں تیز کر لو اور جانور کو آرام دو“۔

Shidad bin Aws (رضي الله تعالى عنه) kehte hain ke do cheezain hain jo main ne Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se sun kar yaad ki hain: "Allah Ta'ala ne har cheez mein ehsaan ( acheh suluk aur baratao ) ko farz kiya hai, lihaza jab tum qatl karo to acheh tarah karo, aur jab tum zabh karo to acheh tarah karo. Tum apni chhrien tez kar lo aur janwar ko aaram do".

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بَزِيعٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ، - وَهُوَ ابْنُ زُرَيْعٍ - قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ، ح وَأَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا غُنْدَرٌ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، عَنْ خَالِدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلاَبَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي الأَشْعَثِ، عَنْ شَدَّادِ بْنِ أَوْسٍ، قَالَ ثِنْتَانِ حَفِظْتُهُمَا مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏"‏ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ كَتَبَ الإِحْسَانَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَىْءٍ فَإِذَا قَتَلْتُمْ فَأَحْسِنُوا الْقِتْلَةَ وَإِذَا ذَبَحْتُمْ فَأَحْسِنُوا الذِّبْحَةَ لِيُحِدَّ أَحَدُكُمْ شَفْرَتَهُ وَلْيُرِحْ ذَبِيحَتَهُ ‏"‏ ‏.‏
