It was narrated that Mu'awiyah bin Hudaij (رضئ للا تعالی عنہ) said that the Apostle of Allah (صلى للا عليه و آله وسلم) prayed one day and said the Taslim when there was still a Rak'a left of the prayer. A man caught up with him and said : 'You forgot a Rak'a of the prayer!' So he came back into the Masjid and told Bilal (رضئ للا تعالی عنہ) to call the Iqamah for prayer, then he led the people in praying one Rak'a. I told the people about that and they said to me : 'Do you know who that man was?' I said : 'No, not unless I see him.' Then he passed by me and I said : 'This is he.' They said: 'This is Talha bin 'Ubaidullah (رضئ للا تعالی عنہ).'"

معاویہ بن حدیج رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے ایک دن نماز پڑھائی، اور ابھی نماز کی ایک رکعت باقی ہی رہ گئی تھی کہ آپ نے سلام پھیر دیا، ایک شخص آپ کی طرف بڑھا، اور اس نے عرض کیا کہ آپ ایک رکعت نماز بھول گئے ہیں، تو آپ مسجد کے اندر آئے اور بلال کو حکم دیا تو انہوں نے نماز کے لیے اقامت کہی، پھر آپ ﷺ نے لوگوں کو ایک رکعت نماز پڑھائی، میں نے لوگوں کو اس کی خبر دی تو لوگوں نے مجھ سے کہا: کیا تم اس شخص کو پہچانتے ہو؟ میں نے کہا: نہیں، لیکن میں اسے دیکھ لوں ( تو پہچان لوں گا ) کہ یکایک وہ میرے قریب سے گزرا تو میں نے کہا: یہ ہے وہ شخص، تو لوگوں نے کہا: یہ طلحہ بن عبیداللہ ( رضی اللہ عنہ ) ہیں۔
Mu'awiyah bin Hudiyj (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se riwayat hai ke Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne ek din namaz padhai, aur abhi namaz ki ek rakat baqi hi reh gayi thi ke aap ne salam phir diya, ek shakhs aap ki taraf badha, aur us ne arz kiya ke aap ek rakat namaz bhool gaye hain, to aap masjid ke andar aaye aur Bilal ko hukm diya to unhon ne namaz ke liye iqamat kahi, phir aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne logoon ko ek rakat namaz padhai, main ne logoon ko is ki khabar di to logoon ne mujh se kaha: kya tum is shakhs ko pehchante ho? main ne kaha: nahin, lekin main is se dekh lun ( to pehchan lun ga ) ke yakayak woh mere qareeb se guzara to main ne kaha: yeh hai woh shakhs, to logoon ne kaha: yeh Talhah bin Ubaidullah ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ) hain.
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ، أَنَّ سُوَيْدَ بْنَ قَيْسٍ، حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ حُدَيْجٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم صَلَّى يَوْمًا فَسَلَّمَ وَقَدْ بَقِيَتْ مِنَ الصَّلاَةِ رَكْعَةٌ فَأَدْرَكَهُ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ نَسِيتَ مِنَ الصَّلاَةِ رَكْعَةً فَدَخَلَ الْمَسْجِدَ وَأَمَرَ بِلاَلاً فَأَقَامَ الصَّلاَةَ فَصَلَّى لِلنَّاسِ رَكْعَةً فَأَخْبَرْتُ بِذَلِكَ النَّاسَ فَقَالُوا لِي أَتَعْرِفُ الرَّجُلَ قُلْتُ لاَ إِلاَّ أَنْ أَرَاهُ فَمَرَّ بِي فَقُلْتُ هَذَا هُوَ . قَالُوا هَذَا طَلْحَةُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ .
