'Abdullah bin Mas'ud said (رضئ للا تعالی عنہ) : "We were fighting a battle and the idolators kept us from praying Zuhr, 'Asr, Maghrib and 'Isha'. When the idolators went away, the Apostle of Allah (صلى للا عليه و آله وسلم) commanded a caller to say Iqamah for Zuhr prayer, and we prayed. Then he said the Iqamah for 'Asr, and we prayed, and he said the Iqamah for Maghrib and we prayed, and he said the Iqama for 'Isha' and we prayed. Then we went around among us and said : 'There is no group on Earth who is remembering Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, except you.'"

عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ ہم ایک غزوہ میں تھے، تو مشرکوں نے ہمیں ظہر عصر، مغرب اور عشاء سے روکے رکھا، تو جب مشرکین بھاگ کھڑے ہوئے تو رسول اللہ ﷺ نے مؤذن کو حکم دیا، تو اس نے نماز ظہر کے لیے اقامت کہی تو ہم نے ظہر پڑھی ( پھر ) اس نے عصر کے لیے اقامت کہی تو ہم نے عصر پڑھی، ( پھر ) اس نے مغرب کے لیے اقامت کہی تو ہم لوگوں نے مغرب پڑھی، پھر اس نے عشاء کے لیے اقامت کہی تو ہم نے عشاء پڑھی، پھر نبی اکرم ﷺ ہماری طرف گھومے ( اور ) فرمایا: روئے زمین پر تمہارے علاوہ کوئی جماعت نہیں جو اللہ عزوجل کو یاد کر رہی ہو ۔
Abdul-Allah bin Mas'ud (رضي الله تعالى عنه)u kehte hain ke hum aik ghazwa mein the, to mushrikon ne humein zuhr, asr, maghrib aur isha se roke rakhe, to jab mushrikin bhaag khade hue to Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne muazzin ko hukm dia, to us ne namaz zuhr ke liye iqamat kahi to hum ne zuhr parhi (phir) us ne asr ke liye iqamat kahi to hum ne asr parhi, (phir) us ne maghrib ke liye iqamat kahi to hum logon ne maghrib parhi, phir us ne isha ke liye iqamat kahi to hum ne isha parhi, phir Nabi-e-Akram (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) hamari taraf ghoome (aur) farmaaya: roye zamin per tumhare alawa koi jamaat nahin jo Allah-e-Azza-o-Jal ko yaad kar rahi ho.
أَخْبَرَنَا الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا بْنِ دِينَارٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، عَنْ زَائِدَةَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ، أَنَّ أَبَا الزُّبَيْرِ الْمَكِّيَّ، حَدَّثَهُمْ عَنْ نَافِعِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، أَنَّ أَبَا عُبَيْدَةَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، حَدَّثَهُمْ أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ كُنَّا فِي غَزْوَةٍ فَحَبَسَنَا الْمُشْرِكُونَ عَنْ صَلاَةِ الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ وَالْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ الْمُشْرِكُونَ أَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم مُنَادِيًا فَأَقَامَ لِصَلاَةِ الظُّهْرِ فَصَلَّيْنَا وَأَقَامَ لِصَلاَةِ الْعَصْرِ فَصَلَّيْنَا وَأَقَامَ لِصَلاَةِ الْمَغْرِبِ فَصَلَّيْنَا وَأَقَامَ لِصَلاَةِ الْعِشَاءِ فَصَلَّيْنَا ثُمَّ طَافَ عَلَيْنَا فَقَالَ " مَا عَلَى الأَرْضِ عِصَابَةٌ يَذْكُرُونَ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ غَيْرُكُمْ " .
