Sunan an-Nasa'i 1561
Tha'labah bin Zahdam narrated that Ali (رضي الله تعالى عنه) appointed Abu Mas’ud ( رضي الله تعالى عنه) over the people, they went out on the day of Eid and said, ‘O people, it is not part of the Sunna to pray before the Imam.’

ثعلبہ بن زہدم سے روایت ہے کہ علی رضی اللہ عنہ نے ابومسعود رضی اللہ عنہ کو لوگوں پر اپنا نائب مقرر کیا، تو ( جب ) وہ عید کے دن نکلے تو کہنے لگے: لوگو! یہ سنت نہیں ہے کہ امام سے پہلے نماز پڑھی جائے۔
Thulba bin Zahdam se riwayat hai ke Ali (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ne Abu Mas'ud (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ko logon par apna naib muqarrar kiya, to ( jab ) woh eid ke din nikle to kahne lage: Logo! Yeh sunnat nahin hai ke imam se pehle namaz padhi jaye.
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنِ الأَشْعَثِ، عَنِ الأَسْوَدِ بْنِ هِلاَلٍ، عَنْ ثَعْلَبَةَ بْنِ زَهْدَمٍ، أَنَّ عَلِيًّا، اسْتَخْلَفَ أَبَا مَسْعُودٍ عَلَى النَّاسِ فَخَرَجَ يَوْمَ عِيدٍ فَقَالَ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّهُ لَيْسَ مِنَ السُّنَّةِ أَنْ يُصَلَّى قَبْلَ الإِمَامِ .
