Sunan an-Nasa'i 1583
Jabir bin Samurah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated, ‘I saw the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) delivering the Khutba standing up, then he sat down for a while and did not speak, then he stood up and delivered another Khutba. Whoever tells you that the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) delivered a Khutba sitting do not believe him’.

جابر بن سمرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے رسول اللہ ﷺ کو کھڑے ہو کر خطبہ دیتے دیکھا، پھر آپ تھوڑی دیر کے لیے بیٹھتے اس میں بولتے نہیں، پھر کھڑے ہوتے، اور دوسرا خطبہ دیتے، تو جو شخص تمہیں یہ خبر دے کہ نبی اکرم ﷺ نے بیٹھ کر خطبہ دیا تو اس کی تصدیق نہ کرنا ۔
Jabir bin Samurah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) kehte hain ke main ne Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko khare ho kar khutbah dete dekha, phir aap thodi der ke liye behthe is mein bolte nahi, phir khare hote, aur dusra khutbah dete, to jo shakhs tumhen yeh khabar de ke Nabi-e-Akram (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne beith kar khutbah diya to is ki tasdeeq nah karna 1؎.
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ، قَالَ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَخْطُبُ قَائِمًا ثُمَّ يَقْعُدُ قَعْدَةً لاَ يَتَكَلَّمُ فِيهَا ثُمَّ قَامَ فَخَطَبَ خُطْبَةً أُخْرَى فَمَنْ خَبَّرَكَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم خَطَبَ قَاعِدًا فَلاَ تُصَدِّقْهُ .
