Sunan an-Nasa'i 4320
Thabit bin Yazid Al-Ansari (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated, ‘we were with the Prophet ( صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) on a journey. We stopped to camp, and the people caught some mastigures. I took a mastigure and grilled it and brought it to the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم). He took a palm stalk, and started counting his fingers with it, and said, ‘a nation from among the children of Israel was turned into beasts of the Earth, and I do not know what kind of animals they were.’ I said, ‘O Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم), the people have eaten some of them.’ He did not tell them to eat it, and he did not forbid them from eating it.’

ثابت بن یزید انصاری رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ ہم ایک سفر میں رسول اللہ ﷺ کے ساتھ تھے ہم ایک جگہ ٹھہرے، لوگوں کو ضب ملی، میں نے ایک ضب پکڑی اور اسے بھونا، پھر اسے لے کر میں نبی اکرم ﷺ کے پاس آیا، آپ نے ایک لکڑی لی اور اس کی انگلیاں گنیں، پھر فرمایا: ”بنی اسرائیل کے کچھ لوگوں کی شکل مسخ کر کے زمین کے کچھ جانوروں کی طرح بنا دی گئی، مجھے نہیں معلوم کہ وہ کون سا جانور ہے“ ۱؎، میں نے عرض کیا: اللہ کے رسول! لوگوں نے اس میں سے کھا لیا ہے، تو پھر نہ آپ نے کھانے کا حکم دیا اور نہ ہی روکا۔
Sabit bin Yazid Ansari (رضي الله تعالى عنه) kehte hain ke hum ek safar mein Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke sath the hum ek jagah thahre, logon ko Zab mili, maine ek Zab pakri aur usse bhoona, phir use le kar main Nabi Akram (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke pass aaya, aap ne ek lakdi li aur us ki ungliyan ginni, phir farmaya: ” Bani Israil ke kuchh logon ki shakal maskh kar ke zameen ke kuchh jaanwaron ki tarah bana di gayi, mujhe nahin maloom ke woh kaun sa jaanwar hai“ 1, maine arz kiya: Allah ke Rasool! logon ne is mein se kha liya hai, to phir nah aap ne khane ka hukm diya aur nah hi roka.
أَخْبَرَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ الْبَلْخِيُّ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الأَحْوَصِ، سَلاَّمُ بْنُ سُلَيْمٍ عَنْ حُصَيْنٍ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ وَهْبٍ، عَنْ ثَابِتِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ الأَنْصَارِيِّ، قَالَ كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فِي سَفَرٍ فَنَزَلْنَا مَنْزِلاً فَأَصَابَ النَّاسُ ضِبَابًا فَأَخَذْتُ ضَبًّا فَشَوَيْتُهُ ثُمَّ أَتَيْتُ بِهِ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَأَخَذَ عُودًا يَعُدُّ بِهِ أَصَابِعَهُ ثُمَّ قَالَ " إِنَّ أُمَّةً مِنْ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ مُسِخَتْ دَوَابَّ فِي الأَرْضِ وَإِنِّي لاَ أَدْرِي أَىُّ الدَّوَابِّ هِيَ " . قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ النَّاسَ قَدْ أَكَلُوا مِنْهَا - قَالَ - فَمَا أَمَرَ بِأَكْلِهَا وَلاَ نَهَى .
