Sunan an-Nasa'i 793
. Sahl bin Sa'd (رضي الله تعالى عنه) said : "There was some fighting among Banu 'Amr bin 'Awf, and news of that reached the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم). He prayed Zuhr, then he went to them to reconcile between them. Then he said to Bilal (رضي الله تعالى عنه) : 'O Bilal (رضي الله تعالى عنه), if the time for Asr comes and I have not come back, then tell Abu Bakr (رضي الله تعالى عنه) to lead the people in prayer.' When the time (for Asr) came, Bilal (رضي الله تعالى عنه) called the Adhan, then the Iqama, then he said to Abu Bakr ( رضي الله تعالى عنه) : 'Go forward. So Abu Bakr (رضي الله تعالى عنه) went forward and started to pray. Then the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) came and started passing through the rows of people until he stood behind Abu Bakr (رضي الله تعالى عنه), and the people clapped. Abu Bakr (رضي الله تعالى عنه) was such that whenever he started praying, he would never glance sideways, but when he noticed that the clapping persisted he turned around. The Apostle of Allah ( صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) gestured to him to carry on praying. Abu Bakr (رضي الله تعالى عنه) praised Allah the Mighty and Sublime for the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) having told him to continue. Then Abu Bakr (رضي الله تعالى عنه) moved backward on his heels. When he completed the prayer he said : 'O Abu Bakr ( رضي الله تعالى عنه), when I gestured to you, what kept you from continuing (to lead the people)?' He said : 'It does not befit the son of Abu Quhafah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) to lead the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) in prayer.' And he (the Prophet ﷺ) said to the people: 'If you notice something (during the prayer), men should say Subhan Allah and women should clap.'"

سہل بن سعد رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ قبیلہ بنی عمرو بن عوف میں آپس میں لڑائی ہوئی، یہ خبر نبی اکرم ﷺ کے پاس پہنچی تو آپ نے ظہر پڑھی، پھر ان کے پاس آئے تاکہ ان میں صلح کرا دیں، اور بلال رضی اللہ عنہ سے فرمایا: بلال! جب عصر کا وقت آ جائے اور میں نہ آ سکوں تو ابوبکر سے کہنا کہ وہ لوگوں کو نماز پڑھا دیں ، چنانچہ جب عصر کا وقت آیا، تو بلال رضی اللہ عنہ نے اذان دی، پھر اقامت کہی، اور ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ سے کہا: آگے بڑھیے، تو ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ آگے بڑھے، اور نماز پڑھانے لگے، اتنے میں رسول اللہ ﷺ تشریف لے آئے، اور لوگوں کو چیرتے ہوئے آگے آئے ۱؎ یہاں تک کہ ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ کے پیچھے آ کر کھڑے ہو گئے، تو لوگوں نے تالیاں بجانی شروع کر دیں، اور ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ کا حال یہ تھا کہ جب وہ نماز شروع کر دیتے تو کسی اور طرف متوجہ نہیں ہوتے، مگر جب انہوں نے دیکھا کہ برابر تالی بج رہی ہے تو وہ متوجہ ہوئے، تو رسول اللہ ﷺ نے ان کی طرف اپنے ہاتھ سے اشارہ کیا کہ تم نماز جاری رکھو ، تو اس بات پر انہوں نے اللہ تعالیٰ کا شکر ادا کیا، پھر وہ اپنی ایڑیوں کے بل الٹے چل کر پیچھے آ گئے، جب رسول اللہ ﷺ نے یہ دیکھا تو آپ نے آگے بڑھ کر لوگوں کو نماز پڑھائی، پھر جب اپنی نماز پوری کر چکے تو آپ نے فرمایا: ابوبکر! جب میں نے تمہیں اشارہ کر دیا تھا تو تم نے نماز کیوں نہیں پڑھائی؟ تو انہوں نے عرض کیا: ابوقحافہ کے بیٹے کو یہ بات زیب نہیں دیتی کہ وہ رسول اللہ ﷺ کی امامت کرے، پھر آپ ﷺ نے لوگوں سے فرمایا: جب تمہیں نماز کے اندر کوئی بات پیش آ جائے، تو مرد سبحان اللہ کہیں، اور عورتیں تالی بجائیں ۔
Sahl bin Saad (رضي الله تعالى عنه) kehte hain ke Qabila Bani Amr bin Aouf mein aapas mein larai hui, yeh khabar Nabi akram sallallahu alaihi wassalam ke paas pahunchi to aap ne zuhr padhi, phir un ke paas aaye taake un mein sulh kara dein, aur Bilal (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se farmaaya: Bilal! Jab asr ka waqt aa jaye aur mein na aa sakon to Abu Bakr se kahna ke woh logoon ko namaz padha dein, chananchh jab asr ka waqt aaya, to Bilal (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ne azan di, phir iqamat kahi, aur Abu Bakr (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se kaha: Aage barhie, to Abu Bakr (رضي الله تعالى عنه) aage barhe, aur namaz padhane lage, itne mein Rasoolallah sallallahu alaihi wassalam tashreef le aaye, aur logoon ko cherete hue aage aaye 1 yeh tak ke Abu Bakr (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ke peeche aa kar khade ho gaye, to logoon ne taliyan bajani shuru kar di, aur Abu Bakr (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ka haal yeh tha ke jab woh namaz shuru kar dete to kisi aur taraf mutwajah nahin hote, magar jab unhon ne dekha ke barabar tali baj rahi hai to woh mutwajah hue, to Rasoolallah sallallahu alaihi wassalam ne un ki taraf apne hath se ishara kiya ke tum namaz jari rakho , to is baat par unhon ne Allah Ta'ala ka shukr ada kiya, phir woh apni erdion ke bal ulte chal kar peeche aa gaye, jab Rasoolallah sallallahu alaihi wassalam ne yeh dekha to aap ne aage barh kar logoon ko namaz padhai, phir jab apni namaz puri kar chuke to aap ne farmaaya: Abu Bakr! Jab mein ne tumhen ishara kar diya tha to tum ne namaz kyun nahin padhai? to unhon ne arz kiya: Abu Qahafa ke bete ko yeh baat zeeb nahin deti ke woh Rasoolallah sallallahu alaihi wassalam ki imamat kare, phir aap sallallahu alaihi wassalam ne logoon se farmaaya: Jab tumhen namaz ke andar koi baat pesh aa jaye, to mard Subhanallah kahen, aur aurtain tali bajain.
أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدَةَ، عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، ثُمَّ ذَكَرَ كَلِمَةً مَعْنَاهَا قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو حَازِمٍ، قَالَ سَهْلُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ كَانَ قِتَالٌ بَيْنَ بَنِي عَمْرِو بْنِ عَوْفٍ فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَصَلَّى الظُّهْرَ ثُمَّ أَتَاهُمْ لِيُصْلِحَ بَيْنَهُمْ ثُمَّ قَالَ لِبِلاَلٍ " يَا بِلاَلُ إِذَا حَضَرَ الْعَصْرُ وَلَمْ آتِ فَمُرْ أَبَا بَكْرٍ فَلْيُصَلِّ بِالنَّاسِ " . فَلَمَّا حَضَرَتْ أَذَّنَ بِلاَلٌ ثُمَّ أَقَامَ فَقَالَ لأَبِي بَكْرٍ رضى الله عنه تَقَدَّمْ . فَتَقَدَّمَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ فَدَخَلَ فِي الصَّلاَةِ ثُمَّ جَاءَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَجَعَلَ يَشُقُّ النَّاسَ حَتَّى قَامَ خَلْفَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ وَصَفَّحَ الْقَوْمُ وَكَانَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ إِذَا دَخَلَ فِي الصَّلاَةِ لَمْ يَلْتَفِتْ فَلَمَّا رَأَى أَبُو بَكْرٍ التَّصْفِيحَ لاَ يُمْسَكُ عَنْهُ الْتَفَتَ فَأَوْمَأَ إِلَيْهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم بِيَدِهِ فَحَمِدَ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ عَلَى قَوْلِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم لَهُ امْضِهْ ثُمَّ مَشَى أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْقَهْقَرَى عَلَى عَقِبَيْهِ فَتَأَخَّرَ فَلَمَّا رَأَى ذَلِكَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم تَقَدَّمَ فَصَلَّى بِالنَّاسِ فَلَمَّا قَضَى صَلاَتَهُ قَالَ " يَا أَبَا بَكْرٍ مَا مَنَعَكَ إِذْ أَوْمَأْتُ إِلَيْكَ أَنْ لاَ تَكُونَ مَضَيْتَ " . فَقَالَ لَمْ يَكُنْ لاِبْنِ أَبِي قُحَافَةَ أَنْ يَؤُمَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم . وَقَالَ لِلنَّاسِ " إِذَا نَابَكُمْ شَىْءٌ فَلْيُسَبِّحِ الرِّجَالُ وَلْيُصَفِّحِ النِّسَاءُ " .
