Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The best of your clothes are white clothes, so wear them in life and shroud your dead in them. And the best kind of kohl for you is antimony, for it clears the eyesight and makes the eyelashes grow."

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں: نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”بہترین لباس سفید کپڑے ہیں، لہٰذا وہ اپنے زندوں کو بھی پہناؤ اور مردوں کو اس میں کفن دو، اور تمہارا بہترین سرمہ اثمد ہے، وہ نظر کو صاف کرتا ہے اور بالوں کو اگاتا ہے۔“
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas razi Allah anhuma kehte hain: Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: “Behtarin libas safeid kapre hain, lihaza wo apne zindon ko bhi pehnao aur murdon ko us mein kafan do, aur tumhara behtarin surma ithmid hai, wo nazar ko saaf karta hai aur baalon ko ugata hai.”
حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ الْعَكِّيُّ الْمِصْرِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ السَّدُوسِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ اللَّيْثِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ خُثَيْمٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" إِنَّ مِنْ خَيْرِ ثِيَابِكُمُ الْبَيَاضَ، فَأَلْبِسُوهَا أَحْيَاءَكُمْ وَكَفِّنُوا فِيهَا مَوْتَاكُمْ، وَإِنَّ مِنْ خَيْرِ أَكْحَالِكُمُ الإِثْمِدَ، وَإِنَّهُ يَجْلُو الْبَصَرَ، وَيُنْبِتُ الشَّعْرَ"، لَمْ يَرْوِهِ عَنْ رَوْحِ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ، إِلا بَكْرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ. تَفَرَّدَ بِهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ
