Sayyiduna Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "There are no days during which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than the (first) ten days of Dhul-Hijjah." He was asked, "Not even Jihad in the Cause of Allah?" He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) replied, "Not even Jihad in the Cause of Allah, except in the case of a man who goes forth, giving himself and his wealth up for the Cause (of Allah), and returns with none of them."

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”اللہ عز و جل کے ہاں کوئی عمل عشرہ ذی الحجہ کے اعمال سے زیادہ محبوب نہیں ہے، مگر جو شخص اپنا مال اور اپنی جان لے کر نکلے اور ان میں سے واپس کچھ نہ لائے۔“
Sayyidna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a kahte hain ki Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: “Allah Azzawajal ke haan koi amal ashra Zil Hajj ke amal se zyada mahboob nahi hai, magar jo shakhs apna mal aur apni jaan le kar nikle aur in mein se wapas kuch na laye.”
حَدَّثَنَا يُوسُفُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ الأَصَمُّ الْبَغْدَادِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ صُدْرَانَ السَّلِيمِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُعْتَمِرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، عَنِ الْفُضَيْلِ بْنِ مَيْسَرَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي حَرِيزٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ:"مَا مِنْ عَمَلٍ أَحَبُّ إِلَى اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ مِنْ عَمَلٍ فِي عَشْرِ ذِي الْحِجَّةِ، إِلا رَجُلٌ يَخْرُجُ بِمَالِهِ وَنَفْسِهِ، ثُمَّ لا يَرْجِعُ"، لَمْ يَرْوِهِ عَنْ أَبِي حَرِيزٍ، إِلا فُضَيْلٌ، تَفَرَّدَ بِهِ مُعْتَمِرٌ
