Issue of the Price of a Dog

‌مَسْأَلَةُ ثَمَنِ الْكَلْبِ

Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah 36229

It is narrated on the authority of Hazrat Abu Masud that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade taking the dowry of a prostitute and the price of a dog.

حضرت ابو مسعود سے روایت ہے کہ نبی کریم (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے زانیہ عورت کے مہر سے اور کتے کے ثمن سے منع فرمایا ہے۔

Hazrat Abu Masood se riwayat hai keh Nabi Kareem (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne zaniyah aurat ke mehr se aur kutte ke samann se mana farmaya hai.

ابْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي مَسْعُودٍ ، « أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ نَهَى عَنْ مَهْرِ الْبَغِيِّ وَثَمَنِ الْكَلْبِ »

It is narrated on the authority of Hazrat Abu Hurairah that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade from the dowry of a prostitute and the price of a dog.

حضرت ابوہریرہ سے روایت ہے کہ نبی کریم (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے زانیہ کے مہر سے اور کتے کے ثمن سے منع فرمایا ہے۔

Hazrat Abu Huraira se riwayat hai keh Nabi Kareem (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne zaniyah ke mehr se aur kutte ke saman se mana farmaya hai.

وَكِيعٌ ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : « نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنْ مَهْرِ الْبَغِيِّ وَثَمَنِ الْكَلْبِ »

Muhammad Ibn Sirin said that the worst of earnings is the price of a dog and the earnings of a flute player.

حضرت محمد بن سیرین فرماتے ہیں کہ خبیث ترین کمائی کتے کا ثمن اور بانسری بجانے والے کی کمائی ہے۔

Hazrat Muhammad bin Sirin farmate hain keh khabees tareen kamai kutte ka saman aur bansuri bajane wale ki kamai hai.

ابْنُ إِدْرِيسَ ، عَنْ أَشْعَثَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ ، قَالَ : « أَخْبَثُ الْكَسْبِ ثَمَنُ الْكَلْبِ وَكَسْبُ الزَّمَّارَةِ »

It is narrated on the authority of Hazrat Jabir that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade the price of a dog and a cat.

حضرت جابر سے روایت ہے کہ نبی کریم (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے کتے اور بلی کے ثمن سے منع فرمایا ۔

Hazrat Jabir se riwayat hai keh Nabi Kareem (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne kutte aur billi ke saman se mana farmaya.

وَكِيعٌ ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ ، قَالَ : أَرَى أَبَا سُفْيَانَ ، ذَكَرَهُ عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، قَالَ : « نَهَى النَّبِيُّ ﷺ عَنْ ثَمَنِ الْكَلْبِ وَالسِّنَّوْرِ »

Hazrat Aun bin Abi Hajifa narrates from his father that Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) forbade from the price of a dog.

حضرت عون بن ابی حجیفہ اپنے والد سے روایت کرتے ہیں کہ نبی کریم (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے کتے کے ثمن سے منع فرمایا ۔

Hazrat Aun bin Abi Hajifa apne walid se riwayat karte hain ke Nabi Kareem (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne kutte ke saman se mana farmaya.

الْفَضْلُ بْنُ دُكَيْنٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، عَنْ عَوْنِ بْنِ أَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : « نَهَى النَّبِيُّ ﷺ عَنْ ثَمَنِ الْكَلْبِ »

Hazrat Ibn Abbas narrates from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) that you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The price of a dog, the dowry of a prostitute, and the price of alcohol are forbidden." And it is mentioned about (Imam) Abu Hanifa that: He has given a concession in the price of a dog.

حضرت ابن عباس ، نبی کریم (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) سے روایت کرتے ہیں کہ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ارشاد فرمایا : کُتّے کا ثمن ، زانیہ کا مہر اور شراب کی قیمت حرام ہے۔ اور (امام) ابوحنیفہ کے بارے میں یہ ذکر کیا جاتا ہے کہ : آپ نے کتے کے ثمن میں رخصت دی ہے۔

Hazrat Ibn Abbas, Nabi Kareem (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Aalehi Wasallam) se riwayat karte hain ke aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Aalehi Wasallam) ne irshad farmaya: kutte ka saman, zaniyah ka mehr aur sharaab ki qeemat haraam hai. Aur (Imam) Abu Hanifa ke baare mein yeh zikr kiya jata hai ke: aap ne kutte ke saman mein rukhsat di hai.

وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ إِسْرَائِيلَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ ، عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ حَبْتَرٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ : « ثَمَنُ الْكَلْبِ وَمَهْرُ الْبَغِيِّ وَثَمَنُ الْخَمْرِ حَرَامٌ » وَذُكِرَ أَنَّ أَبَا حَنِيفَةَ رَخَّصَ فِي ثَمَنِ الْكَلْبِ
