كِتَابُ الْأُمَرَاءِ
What was mentioned about the traditions of rulers and visiting them
مَا ذُكِرَ مِنْ حَدِيثِ الْأُمَرَاءِ وَالدُّخُولِ عَلَيْهِمْ
Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah 30658
Abdullah ibn Salim narrated that, in the Battle of Siffin, a poet was satirizing Muawiyah (ra) and Amr ibn al-As (ra). Ammar (ra) was saying to the people, "Stick close to these two elders." A man remarked to Ammar (ra), "You say this even though you are a Companion of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)?" Ammar (ra) replied, "If you want to sit, then sit, and if you want to go, then go."
عبداللہ بن سلیمہ فرماتے ہیں کہ صفین کی جنگ میں ایک شاعر حضرت معاویہ (رض) اور عمرو بن عاص (رض) کے ہجو کررہا تھا اور عمار (رض) فرما رہے تھے کہ دونوں بڑھیوں کے ساتھ چپکے رہو، کہ اس بات پر ایک آدمی نے کہا کہ آپ یہ کہتے ہیں حالانکہ آپ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے صحابہ ہیں ؟ حضرت عمار (رض) نے فرمایا اگر تو بیٹھنا چاہے تو بیٹھ جا اور اگر جانا چاہے تو چلا جا۔
Abdullah bin Salema farmate hain ke Safeen ki jang mein ek shaer Hazrat Muawiya (RA) aur Amr bin Aas (RA) ke hajo kar raha tha aur Ammar (RA) farma rahe the ke donon buddhiyon ke sath chipke raho, keh is baat par ek aadmi ne kaha ke aap yeh kehte hain halanke aap Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ke sahaba hain? Hazrat Ammar (RA) ne farmaya agar tu baithna chahe to baith ja aur agar jana chahe to chala ja.
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْمُرَادِيِّ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ قَالَ : بَيْنَا شَاعِرٌ يَوْمَ صِفِّينَ يُنْشِدُ هِجَاءً لِمُعَاوِيَةَ وَعَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ قَالَ : وَعَمَّارٌ يَقُولُ : « الرِّقُّ لَفَجُورَيْنِ » قَالَ : فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ : سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ ، تَقُولُ هَذَا وَأَنْتُمْ أَصْحَابُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ ؟ فَقَالَ لَهُ عَمَّارٌ : « إِنْ شِئْتَ أَنْ تَجْلِسَ فَاجْلِسْ ، وَإِنْ شِئْتَ أَنْ تَذْهَبَ فَاذْهَبْ »
