Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah 33952
It is narrated from Hazrat Sha'bi that Hazrat Abu Musa wrote to Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that your esteemed letters have reached us, but we are not aware of their dates, therefore, please determine the date for us. Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) consulted the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them). Some Companions suggested that the date should be set from the Prophet's (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) prophethood, while others suggested that it should be set from the Prophet's (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) death. Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I will set the date from the Hijrah (migration) of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) because his Hijrah is the separator between truth and falsehood. So, he set the date from the Hijrah.
حضرت شعبی سے مروی ہے کہ حضرت ابو موسیٰ نے حضرت عمر (رض) کو لکھا کہ ہمارے پاس آپ کے مکتوب گرامی آئے ہیں ہمیں ان کی تاریخ کا علم نہیں ہوتا لہٰذا آپ ہمارے لیے تاریخ کا تعین کریں، حضرت عمر (رض) نے صحابہ کرام (رض) سے مشورہ فرمایا، بعض صحابہ نے رائے دی کہ حضور (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی بعثت سے تاریخ مقرر کی جائے، اور دیگر بعض صحابہ کی رائے تھی کہ حضور (رض) کی وفات سے تاریخ مقرر کی جائے، حضرت عمر (رض) نے فرمایا : میں حضور (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی ہجرت سے تاریخ مقرر کروں گا کیونکہ حضور (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی ہجرت حق اور باطل کے درمیان فرق کرنے والی ہے، پس انھوں نے ہجرت سے تاریخ مقرر فرمائی۔
Hazrat Shabi se marvi hai ki Hazrat Abu Musa ne Hazrat Umar (RA) ko likha ki hamare pass aap ke maktoob girami aaye hain hamen in ki tareekh ka ilm nahin hota lihaza aap hamare liye tareekh ka taeen karen, Hazrat Umar (RA) ne sahaba karam (RA) se mashwara farmaya, baaz sahaba ne rai di ki huzoor (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ki ba'asat se tareekh muqarrar ki jaye, aur deegar baaz sahaba ki rai thi ki huzoor (RA) ki wafat se tareekh muqarrar ki jaye, Hazrat Umar (RA) ne farmaya : mein huzoor (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ki hijrat se tareekh muqarrar karunga kyunki huzoor (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ki hijrat haq aur baatil ke darmiyan farq karne wali hai, pas inhon ne hijrat se tareekh muqarrar farmaee.
حَدَّثَنَا ، مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْأَسَدِيِّ ، حَدَّثَنَا ، حَيَّانُ ، عَنْ ، مُجَالِدٍ ، عَنْ ، الشَّعْبِيِّ ، قَالَ : كَتَبَ أَبُو مُوسَى إِلَى عُمَرَ أَنَّهُ يَأْتِينَا كُتُبٌ مَا نَعْرِفُ تَأْرِيخَهَا فَأَرِّخْ ، فَاسْتَشَارَ أَصْحَابَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ بَعْضُهُمْ : أَرِّخْ لِمَبْعَثِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَقَالَ بَعْضُهُمْ : أَرِّخْ لِمَوْتِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ عُمَرُ : « أَرِّخْ لِمُهَاجِرِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَإِنَّ مُهَاجِرَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَرْقٌ بَيْنَ الْحَقِّ وَالْبَاطِلِ فَأَرَّخَ »
