كِتَابُ الزُّهْدِ
The Words of al-Hasan al-Basri
كَلَامُ الْحَسَنِ الْبَصْرِيِّ
Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah 35222
It is narrated from Hazrat Hasan that he said that when Allah Almighty created Hazrat Adam and his progeny, the angels said: "These people will not be able to fit on earth." Allah Almighty said: "I am also the one who created death." The angels said: "Then there will be no happiness in their lives." Allah Almighty said: "I am the creator of hope."
حضرت حسن سے روایت ہے وہ کہتے ہیں کہ جب اللہ تعالیٰ نے حضرت آدم اور ان کی اولاد کو پیدا فرمایا۔ تو فرشتوں نے کہا : یہ لوگ زمین میں نہیں سما سکیں گے۔ اللہ تعالیٰ نے فرمایا : میں موت کو بھی پیدا کرنے والا ہوں۔ فرشتوں نے کہا : تب تو پھر ان کی زندگی میں خوشگواری نہیں ہوگی۔ اللہ تعالیٰ نے فرمایا : میں امید کو پیدا کرنے والا ہوں۔
Hazrat Hassan se riwayat hai woh kehte hain ke jab Allah taala ne Hazrat Adam aur un ki aulad ko paida farmaya to farishto ne kaha yeh log zameen mein nahi sama sakenge Allah taala ne farmaya mein maut ko bhi paida karne wala hun farishto ne kaha tab to phir un ki zindagi mein khushgawari nahi hogi Allah taala ne farmaya mein umeed ko paida karne wala hun
عَفَّانُ قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ الشَّهِيدِ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ قَالَ : " لَمَّا خَلَقَ اللَّهُ آدَمَ وَذُرِّيَّتَهُ ، قَالَتِ الْمَلَائِكَةُ : إِنَّ الْأَرْضَ لَا تَسَعُهُمْ ، فَقَالَ : إِنِّي جَاعِلٌ مَوْتًا ، قَالَ : إِذًا لَا يُهَنِّئُهُمُ الْعَيْشُ ، قَالَ : إِنِّي جَاعِلٌ أَمَلًا "
