كِتَابُ الزُّهْدِ
What They Said About Crying Out of Fear of Allah
مَا قَالُوا فِي الْبُكَاءِ مِنْ خَشْيَةِ اللَّهِ

Hazrat Wahab bin Munabih says that there were some ignorant young men among the Israelites. They read the book and acquired knowledge, and they started demanding wealth and honor for reading it. They were the ones who started this innovation. They used to demand honor and worldly wealth in return for it, so they themselves went astray and misled others.
حضرت وہب بن منبہ فرماتے ہیں کہ بنی اسرائیل میں چند جاہل نوجوان تھے۔ انھوں نے کتاب کو پڑھا اور علم حاصل کیا اور انھوں نے اس کے پڑھنے پر مال اور شرافت مانگنا شروع کردی۔ اور انھوں نے ہی اس بدعت کو شروع کیا۔ وہ اس کے بدلہ میں عزت اور مال دنیا میں طلب کرتے پس وہ خود بھی گمراہ ہوئے اور انھوں نے دوسروں کو بھی گمراہ کیا۔
Hazrat Wahab bin Munabbah farmate hain ke Bani Israel mein chand jaahil naujawan thay. Unhon ne kitab ko parha aur ilm hasil kya aur unhon ne us ke parhne par maal aur sharafat mangna shuru kardi. Aur unhon ne hi is bidat ko shuru kya. Woh us ke badle mein izzat aur maal دنیا mein talab karte pas woh khud bhi gumrah huye aur unhon ne dusron ko bhi gumrah kya.
هَوْذَةُ بْنُ خَلِيفَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَوْفٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْوَرْدِ بْنِ ثُمَامَةَ ، عَنْ وَهْبِ بْنِ مُنَبِّهٍ ، قَالَ : « كَانَ فِي بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ رِجَالٌ أَحْدَاثُ الْأَسْنَانِ مَعْمُورُونَ فِيهِمْ ، قَدْ قَرَءُوا الْكِتَابَ وَعَلِمُوا عِلْمًا ، وَأَنَّهُمْ طَلَبُوا بِقِرَاءَتِهِمِ الشَّرَفَ وَالْمَالَ ، وَأَنَّهُمُ ابْتَدَعُوا بِدَعًا أَخَذُوا بِهَا الشَّرَفَ وَالْمَالَ فِي الدُّنْيَا فَضَلُّوا ، وَأَضَلُّوا كَثِيرًا »
