كِتَابُ الزُّهْدِ
What They Said About Crying Out of Fear of Allah
مَا قَالُوا فِي الْبُكَاءِ مِنْ خَشْيَةِ اللَّهِ

Hazrat Aun bin Abdullah (R.A) said, "Beware! Patience, modesty (shyness) of the tongue (not of the heart), and jurisprudence (religious knowledge) are parts of faith. And the things of this world decrease (blessings) and the Hereafter increases (blessings), and it does not decrease this world as much as it increases the Hereafter. Beware of shamelessness, obscenity, and hypocrisy in speech, these things increase this world, but decrease the Hereafter, and they do not increase this world as much as they decrease the Hereafter.
حضرت عون بن عبداللہ فرماتے ہیں کہ خبردار بردباری، حیاء زبان کی عاجزی (نہ کہ دل کی) اور فقہ ایمان کا حصہ ہیں۔ اور اشیاء دنیا کم کرتی ہیں اور آخرت بڑھاتی ہیں اور اتنا دنیا نہیں گھٹاتی جتنا کہ آخرت کو بڑھاتی ہیں۔ خبردار بےحیائی، فحش گوئی اور بیان میں منافقت یہ چیزیں دنیا تو زیادہ کرتی ہیں لیکن آخرت گھٹا دیتی ہیں اور یہ دنیا اتنا نہیں بڑھاتیں جتنا آخرت کو کم کردیتی ہیں۔
Hazrat Aun bin Abdullah farmate hain keh khabardar bardari haya zaban ki aajzi (na keh dil ki) aur fiqh eman ka hissa hain aur ashiya duniya kam karti hain aur akhirat barhati hain aur itna duniya nahin ghatati jitna keh akhirat ko barhati hain khabardar behayaee fahish goi aur bayan mein munafiqat yeh cheezain duniya to zyada karti hain lekin akhirat ghata deti hain aur yeh duniya itna nahin barhati jitna akhirat ko kam karti hain
يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا الْمَسْعُودِيُّ ، عَنْ عَوْنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ كَانَ يَقُولُ : « أَلَا إِنَّ الْحِلْمَ وَالْحَيَاءَ وَالْعِيَّ عِيُّ اللِّسَانِ ، لَا عِيُّ الْقَلْبِ ، وَالْفِقْهَ مِنَ الْإِيمَانِ ، وَهُنَّ مِمَّا يَنْقُصُ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا وَيَزِدْنَ فِي الْآخِرَةِ ، وَمَا يَزِدْنَ فِي الْآخِرَةِ أَكْثَرُ مِمَّا يَنْقُصُ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا إِلَّا أَنَّ الْفُحْشَ وَالْبَذَاءَ وَالْجَفَاءَ وَالْبَيَانَ مِنَ النِّفَاقِ وَهُنَّ مِمَّا يَزِدْنَ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَيَنْقُصْنَ مِنَ الْآخِرَةِ وَمَا يَنْقُصْنَ مِنَ الْآخِرَةِ أَكْثَرُ مِمَّا يَزِدْنَ فِي الدُّنْيَا »
