Chapter on the First Action and Who Did It
بَابُ أَوَّلِ مَا فُعِلَ وَمَنْ فَعَلَهُ

Hazrat Ubaidullah bin Ibrahim narrates that the first pebbles in Masjid-e-Nabawi were laid by Hazrat Umar bin Khattab. When people used to raise their heads (after prostrating), they used to dust off their hands. He ordered to lay pebbles. Pebbles were brought from the place called Aqiq and laid in Masjid-e-Nabawi (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).
حضرت عبید اللہ بن ابراہیم فرماتے ہیں کہ مسجد نبوی میں سب سے پہلے کنکریاں حضرت عمر بن خطاب نے بچھوائیں۔ لوگ جب اپنے سروں کو اٹھاتے تھے تو اپنے ہاتھوں کو جھاڑتے تھے۔ انھوں نے کنکریاں بچھانے کا حکم دیا۔ مقام عقیق سے کنکریاں لائی گئیں اور مسجد نبوی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) مںْ بچھا دی گئیں۔

Unhon ne kankariyan bichhane ka hukum diya. Maqam Aqeeq se kankariyan laee gaeen aur Masjid Nabvi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) mein bichha dee gaeen.
عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قَالَ : « أَوَّلُ مَنْ أَلْقَى الْحَصَى فِي مَسْجِدِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ ، كَانَ النَّاسُ إِذَا رَفَعُوا رُءُوسَهُمْ مِنَ السُّجُودِ نَفَّضُوا أَيْدِيهِمْ فَأَمَرَ بِالْحَصَى فَجِيءَ بِهِ مِنَ الْعَقِيقِ ، فَبُسِطَ فِي مَسْجِدِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ »
