بَابُ أَوَّلِ مَا فُعِلَ وَمَنْ فَعَلَهُ

Hazrat Ka'ab used to say that the first cities to be destroyed will be the two arms of the cities. Someone asked him, "What are the two arms of the cities?" He replied, "Basra and Kufa."
حضرت کعب فرمایا کرتے تھے کہ شہروں میں سب سے پہلے ویران ہونے والے شہروں کے دو بازو ہیں۔ ان سے کسی نے پوچھا کہ شہروں کے دو بازو کیا ہیں ؟ انھوں نے فرمایا کہ بصرہ اور کوفہ۔

عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مَسْعَدَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ الْغَنَوِيُّ ، قَالَ : بَلَغَنَا أَنَّ كَعْبًا ، كَانَ يَقُولُ : « إِنَّ أَوَّلَ الْأَمْصَارِ خَرَابًا جَنَاحَاهَا » ، قُلْنَا : وَمَا جَنَاحَاهَا يَا كَعْبُ ؟ قَالَ : « الْبَصْرَةُ وَمِصْرُ »
