Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah 37878
Abdullah bin Sinan Asadi narrates that I saw Hazrat Ali in the Battle of Siffin, in his hand was the sword of Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) called Zulfiqar. We would stay close to him but he would leave us behind, he would attack then come back, then attack again. Then he brought back his sword and it was split into two pieces. You said that this makes an excuse for you.
عبداللہ بن سنان اسدی فرماتے ہیں کہ میں نے جنگ صفین میں حضرت علی کو دیکھا، ان کے ہاتھ میں رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی ذوالفقار نامی تلوار تھی۔ ہم ان کے اردگرد رہتے تھے لیکن وہ ہمیں پیچھے چھوڑ دیتے تھے، وہ حملہ کرتے پھر آتے پھر حملہ کرتے۔ پھر وہ اپنی تلوار لائے تو وہ دو ٹکڑوں میں تقسیم ہوچکی تھی۔ آپ نے فرمایا کہ یہ تمہارے لیے عذر پیش کرتی ہے۔
Abdullah bin Sinan Asadi farmate hain ki maine jang Safeen mein Hazrat Ali ko dekha, un ke hath mein Rasul Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ki Zulfiqar nami talwar thi. Hum un ke ird gird rehte the lekin wo humain peeche chhor dete the, wo hamla karte phir aate phir hamla karte. Phir wo apni talwar laaye to wo do tukron mein taqseem ho chuki thi. Aap ne farmaya ki yeh tumhare liye uzr pesh karti hai.
وَكِيعٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ شِمْرٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ الْأَسَدِيِّ ، قَالَ : رَأَيْتُ عَلِيًّا يَوْمَ صِفِّينَ وَمَعَهُ سَيْفُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ ذُو الْفِقَارِ قَالَ : فَنَضْبِطُهُ فَيَفْلِتُ فَيَحْمِلُ عَلَيْهِمْ ، قَالَ : ثُمَّ يَجِيءُ ، قَالَ : ثُمَّ يَحْمِلُ عَلَيْهِمْ ، قَالَ ، فَجَاءَ بِسَيْفِهِ قَدْ تَثَنَّى ، فَقَالَ : إِنَّ هَذَا يَعْتَذِرُ إِلَيْكُمْ "
