Ibn 'Umar narrated that the Messenger of Allah said: The believer is not one who curses others. Imam Tirmidhi says: 1- This hadith is hasan gharib, 2- There is also a narration from Abdullah ibn Mas'ud, may Allah be pleased with him, in this chapter, 3- Some people have narrated from the same chain from the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, who said: "It is not appropriate for a believer to be cursing and abusive," this hadith clarifies the first hadith.

عبداللہ بن عمر رضی الله عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ نبی اکرم ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”مومن لعن و طعن کرنے والا نہیں ہوتا ہے“۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث حسن غریب ہے، ۲- اس باب میں عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی الله عنہ سے بھی روایت ہے، ۳- بعض لوگوں نے اسی سند سے نبی اکرم ﷺ سے یوں روایت کی ہے کہ آپ نے فرمایا: ”مومن کے لیے مناسب نہیں ہے کہ وہ لعن وطعن کرنے والا ہو“، یہ حدیث پہلی حدیث کی وضاحت کر رہی ہے۔
Abd-ul-llah bin Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a kehte hain ke Nabi-e-Akram (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: “Momin la'n o ta'n karne wala nahin hota hai”۔ Imam Tirmidhi kehte hain: 1. yeh hadees hasan gharib hai, 2. is bab mein Abd-ul-llah bin Mas'ud (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se bhi riwayat hai, 3. ba'az logoon ne isi sand se Nabi-e-Akram (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se yun riwayat ki hai ke aap ne farmaya: “Momin ke liye munasib nahin hai ke woh la'n o ta'n karne wala ho”, yeh hadees pehli hadees ki vazahat kar rahi hai.
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَامِرٍ، عَنْ كَثِيرِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ: قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: لَا يَكُونُ الْمُؤْمِنُ لَعَّانًا ، قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى: وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، وَهَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ، وَرَوَى بَعْضُهُمْ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: لَا يَنْبَغِي لِلْمُؤْمِنِ أَنْ يَكُونَ لَعَّانًا وَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ مُفَسِّرٌ.
