Abu Hurairah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said, ‘the fast is the day the people fast, the breaking of the fast is the day the people break their fast, and the sacrifice is the day the people sacrifice.’ Imam Tirmidhi said, ‘this Hadith is Gharib Hasan, and some of the people of knowledge explained this Hadith by saying that this only means that the fast and the breaking of the fast is done with the Jama'ah and the masses of the people.’

ابوہریرہ رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ نبی اکرم ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”صیام کا دن وہی ہے جس دن تم سب روزہ رکھتے ہو اور افطار کا دن وہی ہے جب سب عید الفطر مناتے ہو اور اضحٰی کا دن وہی ہے جب سب عید مناتے ہو“۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث حسن غریب ہے، ۲- بعض اہل علم نے اس حدیث کی تشریح یوں کی ہے کہ صوم اور عید الفطر اجتماعیت اور سواد اعظم کے ساتھ ہونا چاہیئے ۔
Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) kahte hain ke Nabi Akram (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: "Siyam ka din wahi hai jis din tum sab roza rakhte ho aur Iftar ka din wahi hai jab sab Eid ul Fitr manate ho aur Azha ka din wahi hai jab sab Eid manate ho"۔ Imam Tirmidhi kahte hain: 1. Yah Hadees Hasan Gharib hai, 2. Baaz Ahl e Ilm ne is Hadees ki Tashreeh yun ki hai ke Som aur Eid ul Fitr ijtama'iyat aur Sawad e Azam ke sath hona chahiye 1؎۔
أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيل، حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاق بْنُ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ الْأَخْنَسِيِّ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: الصَّوْمُ يَوْمَ تَصُومُونَ وَالْفِطْرُ يَوْمَ تُفْطِرُونَ وَالْأَضْحَى يَوْمَ تُضَحُّونَ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى: هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ، وَفَسَّرَ بَعْضُ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ، فَقَالَ: إِنَّمَا مَعْنَى هَذَا أَنَّ الصَّوْمَ وَالْفِطْرَ مَعَ الْجَمَاعَةِ وَعُظْمِ النَّاسِ.
