Nubaih bin Wahb brother of Banu Abdul Dar narrated, ‘Umar bin Ubaidallah ( رضي الله تعالى عنه) sent someone to Aban bin Uthman bin Affan (رضي الله تعالى عنه) asking him (to participate in the marriage ceremony). Aban (رضي الله تعالى عنه) in those days was the chief of the pilgrims and both were in the sacred state (wearing Ihram). I want to give the daughter of Shaibah bin Jubair to Talhah bin Umar (رضي الله تعالى عنه) in marriage. I wish that you may attend it.’ Aban (رضي الله تعالى عنه) refused and said, ‘I heard my father Uthman bin Affan (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrating a tradition from the Apostle of Allah ( صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) as saying, ‘a pilgrim may not marry and give someone in marriage in the sacred state (while wearing Ihram).’

نبیہ بن وہب جو بنی عبدالدار کے فرد ہیں سے روایت ہے کہ عمر بن عبیداللہ نے انہیں ابان بن عثمان بن عفان کے پاس بھیجا، ابان اس وقت امیر الحج تھے، وہ دونوں محرم تھے، وہ ان سے پوچھ رہے تھے کہ میں نے ارادہ کیا ہے کہ میں طلحہ بن عمر کا شیبہ بن جبیر کی بیٹی سے نکاح کر دوں، میں چاہتا ہوں کہ تم بھی اس میں شریک رہو، ابان نے اس پر انکار کیا اور کہا کہ میں نے اپنے والد عثمان بن عفان رضی اللہ عنہ کو کہتے سنا کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا ہے: محرم نہ خود نکاح کرے اور نہ کسی دوسرے کا نکاح کرائے ۔

حَدَّثَنَا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنْ نُبَيْهِ بْنِ وَهْبٍ أَخِي بَنِي عَبْدِ الدَّارِ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ أَرْسَلَ إِلَى أَبَانَ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَفَّانَ يَسْأَلُهُ وَ أَبَانُ يَوْمَئِذٍ أَمِيرُ الْحَاجِّ وَهُمَا مُحْرِمَانِ: إِنِّي أَرَدْتُ أَنْ أُنْكِحَ طَلْحَةَ بْنَ عُمَرَ ابْنَةَ شَيْبَةَ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، فَأَرَدْتُ أَنْ تَحْضُرَ ذَلِكَ فَأَنْكَرَ ذَلِكَ عَلَيْهِ أَبَانُ، وَقَالَ: إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ بْنَ عَفَّانَ، يَقُولُ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: لَا يَنْكِحُ الْمُحْرِمُ وَلَا يُنْكِحُ .
