باب فِي الاِسْتِغْفَارِ
Sunan Abi Dawud 1527
Abu Musa Al-Ash'ari (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated, ‘they (the Companions) accompanied the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) while they were climbing the turning of a hill. A man uttered loudly, ‘There is no God but Allah (جَلَّ ذُو), and Allah ( ََّّ وَ جَلعَز) is most great” when he ascended the hill. The Prophet of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said, ‘you are not supplicating one who is deaf or absent. ‘And he also said, ‘O Abdullah bin Qais….’. The narrator then transmitted the tradition to the same effect.

ابوموسیٰ اشعری رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ وہ لوگ نبی اکرم ﷺ کے ساتھ تھے اور ایک پہاڑی پر چڑھ رہے تھے، ایک شخص تھا، وہ جب بھی پہاڑی پر چڑھتا تو «لا إله إلا الله والله أكبر» پکارتا، اس پر نبی اکرم ﷺ نے فرمایا: تم لوگ کسی بہرے اور غائب کو نہیں پکار رہے ہو ۔ پھر فرمایا: اے عبداللہ بن قیس! پھر راوی نے اسی مفہوم کی حدیث بیان کی۔
Abu Musa Ash'ari (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se Riwayat hai ke woh log Nabi Akram (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke sath the aur ek pahaari par charh rahe the, ek shakhs tha, woh jab bhi pahaari par charhta to «La ilaha illa Allah wallah hu Akbar» pukarta, is par Nabi Akram (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: Tum log kisi behre aur ghaib ko nahin pukar rahe ho. Phir farmaya: Aey Abd-Allah bin Qais! Phir rawi ne isi mafhumi ki Hadith bayan ki.
حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ التَّيْمِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى الْأَشْعَرِيِّ، أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُمْ يَتَصَعَّدُونَ فِي ثَنِيَّةٍ، فَجَعَلَ رَجُلٌ كُلَّمَا عَلَا الثَّنِيَّةَ نَادَى لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَاللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ، فَقَالَ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: إِنَّكُمْ لَا تُنَادُونَ أَصَمَّ وَلَا غَائِبًا ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: يَا عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ قَيْسٍ فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ.
