Sunan Abi Dawud 2505
Ibn ‘Abbas (رضي الله تعالى عنه) said, the Quranic verse [If you do not go forth, He will punish you with a painful punishment] (At-Tawba – 39), and the verse - [It was not worthy of the people of Madina, and the Nomad Arabs of the desert around them, to abandon the Apostle of Allah ( صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم), and to care more for themselves than for him; for there is no hardship or thirst or hunger that they know in the service of Allah, and no place they walk on where walking provokes the unbelievers, and no harm they receive from the enemy, but is put down as a good deed for them. Certainly, Allah does not let the recompense of those who do good to go waste. Nor do they spend any amount for Allah's sake, small or big, nor do they cross a valley (while traveling in Allah's cause), but it is recorded for them so that Allah may repay them the best reward for what they used to do.] (At-Tawba: 120-21) have been repealed by the verse – [Nor should the Believers all go forth together.] (At-Tawba – 122)

عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں «إلا تنفروا يعذبكم عذابا أليما» اگر تم جہاد کے لیے نہیں نکلو گے تو اللہ تمہیں عذاب دے گا ( سورۃ التوبہ: ۳۹ ) اور «ما كان لأهل المدينة» سے «يعملون» مدینہ کے رہنے والوں کو اور جو دیہاتی ان کے گرد و پیش ہیں ان کو یہ زیبا نہ تھا کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ کو چھوڑ کر پیچھے رہ جائیں ( سورۃ التوبہ: ۱۰ ) کو بعد والی آیت «وما كان المؤمنون لينفروا كافة» مناسب نہیں کہ مسلمان سب کے سب جہاد کے لیے نکل پڑیں ( سورۃ التوبہ: ۱۲۲ ) نے منسوخ کر دیا ہے۔
Abdul-allah bin Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a kehte hain «Ila tanfaru ya'azibakum 'azaban alima» agar tum jihad ke liye nahin niklo ge to Allah tumhen azab de ga ( Surah at-Taubah: 39 ) aur «Ma kan la-ahl al-madina» se «ya'malun» Madina ke rahne walon ko aur jo dehati un ke gard o pesh hain in ko yeh zeba nah tha ke Rasool-Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko chhod kar pichhe reh jaen ( Surah at-Taubah: 10 ) ko baad wali ayat «Wa ma kan al-muminoon layin faru kaffa» munasib nahin ke musalman sab ke sab jihad ke liye nikal paden ( Surah at-Taubah: 122 ) ne mansukh kar diya hai.
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمَرْوَزِيُّ، حَدَّثَنِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ النَّحْوِيِّ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: إِلا تَنْفِرُوا يُعَذِّبْكُمْ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًا سورة التوبة آية 39، وَ مَا كَانَ لأَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ إِلَى قَوْلِهِ يَعْمَلُونَ سورة التوبة آية 120 ـ 121 نَسَخَتْهَا الْآيَةُ الَّتِي تَلِيهَا وَمَا كَانَ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ لِيَنْفِرُوا كَافَّةً سورة التوبة آية 122.
