Chapter: Mention Of Tribulations And Their Signs

باب ذِكْرِ الْفِتَنِ وَدَلاَئِلِهَا

The tradition mentioned above (# 5) has also been transmitted through a different chain of narrators by Nasr ibn Asim al-Laythi who said, we came to al-Yashkuri with a group of the people of Banu Layth. He asked: Who are these people? We replied, Banu Layth. We have come to you to ask you about the tradition of Hudhayfah (رضئ للا تعالی عنہ). He then mentioned the tradition and said, I asked, Apostle of Allah (صلى للا عليه و آله وسلم), will there be evil after this good? He replied, there will be trial (fitnah) and evil. I asked, Apostle of Allah (صلى للا عليه و آله وسلم), will there be good after this evil? He replied, learn the Book of Allah, Hudhayfah ( رضئ للاتعالی عنہ), and adhere to its contents. He said it three times. I asked: Apostle of Allah ( صلى للا عليهو آله وسلم), will there be good after this evil? He replied, an illusory truce and a community with specks in its eye. I asked, Apostle of Allah (صلى للا عليه و آله وسلم), what do you mean by an illusory community? He replied, the hearts of the people will not return to their former condition. I asked, Apostle of Allah (صلى للا عليه و آله وسلم), will there be evil after this good? He replied, there will be wrong belief which will blind and deafen men to the truth in which there will be summoners at the gates of Hell. If you, Hudhayfah (رضئ للا تعالی عنہ), die adhering to a stump, it will be better for you than following any of them.

نصر بن عاصم لیثی کہتے ہیں کہ ہم بنی لیث کے کچھ لوگوں کے ساتھ یشکری کے پاس آئے تو انہوں نے پوچھا: تم کون لوگ ہو؟ ہم نے کہا: ہم بنی لیث کے لوگ ہیں ہم آپ کے پاس حذیفہ رضی اللہ عنہ کی حدیث پوچھنے آئے ہیں؟ تو انہوں نے پوری حدیث ذکر کی اس میں ہے: میں نے عرض کیا: اللہ کے رسول! کیا اس خیر کے بعد شر ہو گا؟ آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا: فتنہ اور شر ہو گا میں نے عرض کیا: اللہ کے رسول! اس شر کے بعد پھر خیر ہو گا؟ آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا: حذیفہ! اللہ کی کتاب کو پڑھو اور جو کچھ اس میں ہے اس کی پیروی کرو آپ نے یہ تین بار فرمایا، میں نے عرض کیا: اللہ کے رسول! کیا اس شر کے بعد پھر خیر ہو گا؟ آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا: «هدنة على الدخن» ہو گا اور جماعت ہو گی جس کے دلوں میں کینہ و فساد ہو گا میں نے عرض کیا:«هدنة على الدخن» کا کیا مطلب ہے؟ آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا: لوگوں کے دل اس حالت پر نہیں واپس آئیں گے جس پر پہلے تھے ۱؎ میں نے عرض کیا: اللہ کے رسول! کیا اس خیر کے بعد بھی شر ہو گا؟ آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا: ایک ایسا اندھا اور بہرا فتنہ ہو گا ( اور اس کے قائد ) جہنم کے دروازوں پر بلانے والے ہوں گے، تو اے حذیفہ! تمہارا جنگل میں درخت کی جڑ چبا چبا کر مر جانا بہتر ہو گا اس بات سے کہ تم ان میں کسی کی پیروی کرو ۔
Nasr bin Asam Laithi kehte hain ke hum Bani Laith ke kuchh logoon ke sath Yishkri ke pas aaye to unhon ne poocha: tum kon log ho? Hum ne kaha: hum Bani Laith ke log hain hum aap ke pas Hazifa (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ki hadith poochhne aaye hain? To unhon ne puri hadith zikr ki is mein hai: Main ne arz kiya: Allah ke Rasool! Kya is khair ke baad shar ho ga? Aap sallaAllahu alaihi wa sallam ne farmaya: Fitna aur shar ho ga Main ne arz kiya: Allah ke Rasool! Is shar ke baad phir khair ho ga? Aap sallaAllahu alaihi wa sallam ne farmaya: Hazifa! Allah ki kitab ko parho aur jo kuchh is mein hai us ki pehrai karo Aap ne yeh teen bar farmaya, main ne arz kiya: Allah ke Rasool! Kya is shar ke baad phir khair ho ga? Aap sallaAllahu alaihi wa sallam ne farmaya: «Hedna ala al-dukhun» ho ga aur jamaat ho gi jiske dilon mein kaina wa fasad ho ga Main ne arz kiya: «Hedna ala al-dukhun» ka kya matlab hai? Aap sallaAllahu alaihi wa sallam ne farmaya: Logon ke dil is halat par nahin wapis aayenge jis par pehle the Main ne arz kiya: Allah ke Rasool! Kya is khair ke baad bhi shar ho ga? Aap sallaAllahu alaihi wa sallam ne farmaya: Ek aisa andha aur bahra fitna ho ga ( aur is ke qaid ) jahannam ke darwaazon par bulane walay hon ge, to aey Hazifa! Tumhara jangal mein darakht ki jad chaba chaba kar mar jana behtar ho ga is baat se ke tum in mein kisi ki pehrai karo.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ الْقَعْنَبِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ الْمُغِيرَةِ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ، عَنْ نَصْرِ بْنِ عَاصِمٍ اللَّيْثِيِّ، قَالَ: أَتَيْنَا الْيَشْكُرِيَّ فِي رَهْطٍ مِنْ بَنِي لَيْثٍ، فَقَالَ: مِنَ الْقَوْمُ ؟ قُلْنَا: بَنُو لَيْثٍ أَتَيْنَاكَ نَسْأَلُكَ عَنْ حَدِيثِ حُذَيْفَةَ، فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ، قَالَ: قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ هَلْ بَعْدَ هَذَا الْخَيْرِ شَرٌّ ؟ قَالَ: فِتْنَةٌ وَشَرٌّ قَالَ: قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ هَلْ بَعْدَ هَذَا الشَّرِّ خَيْرٌ ؟ قَالَ: يَا حُذَيْفَةُ تَعَلَّمْ كِتَابَ اللَّهِ وَاتَّبِعْ مَا فِيهِ ثَلَاثَ مِرَارٍ، قَالَ: قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ هَلْ بَعْدَ هَذَا الشَّرِّ خَيْرٌ ؟ قَالَ: هُدْنَةٌ عَلَى دَخَنٍ وَجَمَاعَةٌ عَلَى أَقْذَاءٍ فِيهَا أَوْ فِيهِمْ، قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ الْهُدْنَةُ عَلَى الدَّخَنِ مَا هِيَ ؟ قَالَ: لَا تَرْجِعُ قُلُوبُ أَقْوَامٍ عَلَى الَّذِي كَانَتْ عَلَيْهِ، قَالَ: قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَبَعْدَ هَذَا الْخَيْرِ شَرٌّ ؟ قَالَ: فِتْنَةٌ عَمْيَاءُ صَمَّاءُ عَلَيْهَا دُعَاةٌ عَلَى أَبْوَابِ النَّارِ فَإِنْ تَمُتْ يَا حُذَيْفَةُ وَأَنْتَ عَاضٌّ عَلَى جِذْلٍ خَيْرٌ لَكَ مِنْ أَنْ تَتَّبِعَ أَحَدًا مِنْهُمْ.
