Chapter: The Prohibition Of Participating In The Tribulation

باب فِي النَّهْىِ عَنِ السَّعْىِ، فِي الْفِتْنَةِ
Sunan Abi Dawud 4257
Sa'd ibn Abu Waqqas (رضئ للا تعالی عنہ) narrated that he asked, Apostle of Allah ( صلى للا عليه و آلهوسلم) tell me if someone enters my house and extends his hands to kill me (what should I do?) The Apostle of Allah (صلى للا عليه و آله وسلم) replied, be like the two sons of Adam (عليه السالم). The narrator Yazid (ibn Khalid) then recited the verse – [If you raise your hand to kill me, I will raise not mine to kill you, for I fear Allah, the Lord of the worlds.] (Al-Ma’idah – 28).

سعد بن ابی وقاص رضی اللہ عنہ اس حدیث میں کہتے ہیں میں نے عرض کیا: اللہ کے رسول! ( اس فتنہ و فساد کے زمانہ میں ) اگر کوئی میرے گھر میں گھس آئے، اور اپنا ہاتھ مجھے قتل کرنے کے لیے بڑھائے تو میں کیا کروں؟ تو رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا: تم آدم کے نیک بیٹے ( ہابیل ) کی طرح ہو جاؤ ، پھر یزید نے یہ آیت پڑھی «لئن بسطت إلى يدك» ۔
Sa'ad bin Abi Waqas (رضي الله تعالى عنه) is hadith mein kehte hain main ne arz kiya Allah ke Rasool (is fitna o fasad ke zamane mein) agar koi mere ghar mein ghus aaye aur apna hath mujhe qatl karne ke liye badhaye to main kya karoon to Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya tum Aadam ke nek bete (Habil) ki tarah ho jao phir Yazid ne yeh aayat parhi «La'in basṭat ila yadk» 1؎
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ الرَّمْلِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا مُفَضِّلٌ، عَنْ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنْ بُكَيْرٍ، عَنْ بُسْرِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ حُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْأَشْجَعِيِّ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ سَعْدَ بْنَ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ، قَالَ: فَقُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ دَخَلَ عَلَيَّ بَيْتِي وَبَسَطَ يَدَهُ لِيَقْتُلَنِي ؟ قَالَ: فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: كُنْ كَابْنَيْ آدَمَ وَتَلَا يَزِيدُ لَئِنْ بَسَطْتَ إِلَيَّ يَدَكَ سورة المائدة آية 28 الْآيَةَ.
