Chapter: Regarding narrations about Al-Jassasah

باب فِي خَبَرِ الْجَسَّاسَةِ

Jabir ibn Abdullah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said one day from the pulpit, when some people were sailing in the sea, their food was finished. An island appeared to them. They went out seeking bread. They were met by the Jassasah (the Antichrist's spy). I said to Abu Salamah, what is the Jassasah? He replied, a woman trailing the hair of her skin and of her head. She said, in this castle. He then narrated the rest of the tradition. He asked about the palm-trees of Baysan and the spring of Zughar. He said, he is the Antichrist. Ibn Salamah said to me, (Umar bin Abi Salamah is the narrator of this Hadith and Al-Walid is the listener), there is something more in this tradition, which I could not remember. He said, Jabir (رضي الله تعالى عنه) testified that it was he who was Ibn Saayad. I said, 'but he has died.' He said, 'even though he died!' I said, 'but he accepted Islam.' He said, even though he accepted Islam!' I said, but he entered Al-Madinah.' He said, even though he entered Madina.

جابر رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے ایک دن منبر پر فرمایا: کچھ لوگ سمندر میں سفر کر رہے تھے کہ اسی دوران ان کا کھانا ختم ہو گیا تو ان کو ایک جزیرہ نظر آیا اور وہ روٹی کی تلاش میں نکلے، ان کی ملاقات جساسہ سے ہوئی ولید بن عبداللہ کہتے ہیں: میں نے ابوسلمہ سے پوچھا: جساسہ کیا ہے؟ تو انہوں نے جواب دیا کہ وہ ایک عورت تھی جو اپنی کھال اور سر کے بال کھینچ رہی تھی، اس جساسہ نے کہا: اس محل میں ( چلو ) پھر انہوں نے پوری حدیث ذکر کی اس میں ہے اور دجال نے بیسان کے کھجور کے درختوں، اور زغر کے چشموں کے متعلق دریافت کیا، اس میں ہے یہی مسیح ہے ۔ ولید بن عبداللہ کہتے ہیں: اس پر ابن ابی سلمہ نے مجھ سے کہا: اس حدیث میں کچھ ایسی چیزیں بھی ہیں جو مجھے یاد نہیں ہیں۔ ابوسلمہ بن عبدالرحمٰن کہتے ہیں: جابر نے پورے وثوق سے کہا: یہی ابن صیاد ۱؎ ہے، تو میں نے کہا: وہ تو مر چکا ہے، اس پر انہوں نے کہا: مر جانے دو، میں نے کہا: وہ تو مسلمان ہو گیا تھا، کہا: ہو جانے دو، میں نے کہا: وہ مدینہ میں آیا تھا، کہا: آنے دو، اس سے کیا ہوتا ہے۔
Jabir (رضي الله تعالى عنه) kehte hain ke Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne ek din minbar par farmaya: Kuchh log samandar mein safar kar rahe the ke usi doran un ka khana khatam ho gaya to un ko ek jazirah nazar aaya aur woh roti ki talaash mein nikle, un ki mulaatq Jassasa se hui. Walid bin Abdullah kehte hain: Maine Abu Salamah se poocha: Jassasa kya hai? To unhon ne jawab diya ke woh ek aurat thi jo apni khaal aur sar ke baal kheench rahi thi. Is Jassasa ne kaha: Is mahal mein (chalo). Phir unhon ne poori hadeeth zikr ki is mein hai. Aur Dajjal ne Bisan ke khajoor ke darakhton, aur Zaghar ke chasmon ke mutaalliq tawaqquf kiya, is mein hai. Yahi Masih hai. Walid bin Abdullah kehte hain: Is par Ibn Abi Salamah ne mujh se kaha: Is hadeeth mein kuchh aisi cheezain bhi hain jo mujhe yaad nahin hain. Abu Salamah bin Abdur Rahman kehte hain: Jabir ne pure waqoof se kaha: Yahi Ibn Sayyad 1؎ hai, to maine kaha: Woh to mar chuka hai, is par unhon ne kaha: Mar jaane do, maine kaha: Woh to musalman ho gaya tha, kaha: Ho jaane do, maine kaha: Woh Madinah mein aaya tha, kaha: Aane do, is se kya hota hai.
حَدَّثَنَا وَاصِلُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ فُضَيْلٍ، عَنِ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ جُمَيْعٍ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ: إِنَّهُ بَيْنَمَا أُنَاسٌ يَسِيرُونَ فِي الْبَحْرِ فَنَفِدَ طَعَامُهُمْ، فَرُفِعَتْ لَهُمْ جَزِيرَةٌ، فَخَرَجُوا يُرِيدُونَ الْخُبْزَ فَلَقِيَتْهُمُ الْجَسَّاسَةُ، قُلْتُ لِأَبِي سَلَمَةَ: وَمَا الْجَسَّاسَةُ ؟ قَالَ: امْرَأَةٌ تَجُرُّ شَعْرَ جِلْدِهَا وَرَأْسِهَا قَالَتْ: فِي هَذَا الْقَصْرِ، فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ وَسَأَلَ عَنْ نَخْلِ بَيْسَانَ، وَعَنْ عَيْنِ زُغَرَ، قَالَ: هُوَ الْمَسِيحُ، فَقَالَ لِي ابْنُ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ: إِنَّ فِي هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ شَيْئًا مَا حَفِظْتُهُ، قَالَ: شَهِدَ جَابِرٌ أَنَّهُ هُوَ ابْنُ صَيَّادٍ قُلْتُ: فَإِنَّهُ قَدْ مَاتَ قَالَ: وَإِنْ مَاتَ قُلْتُ: فَإِنَّهُ أَسْلَمَ، قَالَ: وَإِنْ أَسْلَمَ، قُلْتُ: فَإِنَّهُ قَدْ دَخَلَ الْمَدِينَةَ، قَالَ: وَإِنْ دَخَلَ الْمَدِينَةَ.
