Abu Bakrah ( رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated one day the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) asked, which of you had a dream? He then mentioned the rest of the tradition to the same effect, but he did not mention the word ‘dislike.’ Instead, he said, the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) was grieved about that. He then said, there will be a caliphate on the model of prophecy, then Allah will give the kingdom to whom he wills.’

ابوبکرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ نبی اکرم ﷺ نے ایک دن فرمایا: تم میں سے کس نے خواب دیکھا ہے؟ پھر راوی نے اسی مفہوم کی حدیث بیان کی اور چہرے پر ناگواری دیکھنے کا ذکر نہیں کیا بلکہ یوں کہا: رسول اللہ ﷺ کو وہ ( خواب ) برا لگا، اور فرمایا: وہ نبوت کی خلافت ہے، پھر اس کے بعد اللہ جسے چاہے گا سلطنت عطا کرے گا ۔
Abu Bakr رضی اللہ عنہ kehte hain ke Nabi Akram صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ne ek din farmaya: Tum mein se kis ne khwab dekha hai? Phir rawi ne usi mafhूम ki hadith bayan ki aur chehre par na gawari dekhne ka zakr nahin kiya balke yun kaha: Rasool اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ko woh (khwab) bura laga, aur farmaya: Woh nubuwwat ki khilafat hai, phir uske baad Allah jisay chahega sultanat ata karega.
حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيل، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيه، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ: أَيُّكُمْ رَأَى رُؤْيَا ؟، فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ وَلَمْ يَذْكُرِ الْكَرَاهِيَةَ، قَالَ: فَاسْتَاءَ لَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَعْنِي فَسَاءَهُ ذَلِكَ، فَقَالَ: خِلَافَةُ نُبُوَّةٍ ثُمَّ يُؤْتِي اللَّهُ الْمُلْكَ مَنْ يَشَاءُ.
