Sunan Abi Dawud 545
Abu al-Nadr reported that when the Iqama was pronounced and the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) saw that they (the people) were small in number, he would sit down and would not pray; but when he saw them (the people) large in number, he would pray.

انس رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ نماز ( عشاء ) کی تکبیر کہی گئی اور رسول اللہ ﷺ مسجد کے ایک کونے میں ایک شخص سے باتیں کر رہے تھے، تو آپ نماز کے لیے کھڑے نہیں ہوئے یہاں تک کہ لوگ سونے لگے۔
Anas Razi allahu anhu kehte hain ke namaz (Isha) ki takbir kahi gayi aur rasool allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) masjid ke ek kone mein ek shakhs se baten kar rahe the, to aap namaz ke liye khare nahi hue yahaan tak ke log sone lage.
حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ صُهَيْبٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، قَالَ: أُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَجِيٌّ فِي جَانِبِ الْمَسْجِدِ، فَمَا قَامَ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ حَتَّى نَامَ الْقَوْمُ .
