Chapter: The Supplication With Which The Prayer Should Be Started

باب مَا يُسْتَفْتَحُ بِهِ الصَّلاَةُ مِنَ الدُّعَاءِ

Rifa'ah ibn Rafi (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that he offered prayer behind the Apostle of Allah ( صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم). Rifa'a (رضئ هللا تعالی عنہ) sneezed. The narrator Qutayba did not mention the name Rifa'a (رضي الله تعالى عنه) (but he said : I sneezed). So I said - ِ َّ ِ حَمْدًاالْحَمْدُ ّلِل ُِّ بَكًا عَلَيْهِ كَمَا يُحَكًا فِيهِ مُبَارًا طَي ِبًا مُبَاركَثِيرْ ضَىَ بُّنَا وَ يَرر [ Praise be to Allah, praise much, good and blessed therein, blessed thereupon, as our Lord likes and is pleased]. When the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) finished his prayer, he turned and said : Who was the speaker in prayer? He then narrated the rest of the tradition like that of Malik and completed it.

عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ تہجد میں «الله اكبر» کہنے کے بعد دعا فرماتے تھے پھر انہوں نے اسی معنی کی حدیث ذکر کی۔
Abdul'llah bin Abbas Radi Allahu anhuma kehte hain ke Rasul'llah Sall'llahu Alaihi wa Sallam tahajud mein «Allah Akbar» kehne ke baad dua farmatay thay phir unhon ne isi ma'ni ki Hadith zikr ki.
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كَامِلٍ،حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ الْحَارِثِ، حَدَّثَنَا عِمْرَانُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، أَنَّ قَيْسَ بْنَ سَعْدٍ حَدَّثَهُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَاطَاوُسٌ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ فِي التَّهَجُّدِ يَقُولُ بَعْدَ مَا يَقُولُ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ، ثُمَّ ذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ.
