It is narrated by a sheikh of Banu Sulaym that once I went to the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, to discuss about the prisoners who were captured during the pre-Islamic period. At that time, the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, was sitting surrounded by people in a circle. The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, was wearing a thick lower garment. The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, was pointing with his fingers. I heard him saying, “A Muslim is the brother of a Muslim. He neither oppresses him nor leaves him helpless.” Piety is here, piety is here, meaning in the heart.

بنوسلیط کے ایک شیخ سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ میں نبی ﷺ کی خدمت میں اپنے ان قیدیوں کے متعلق گفتگو کرنے کے لئے حاضر ہوا جو زمانہ جاہلیت میں پکڑ لئے گئے تھے اس وقت نبی ﷺ تشریف فرما تھے اور لوگوں نے حلقہ بنا کر آپ کو گھیر رکھا تھا نبی ﷺ نے ایک موٹی تہبند باندھ رکھی تھی نبی ﷺ اپنی انگلیوں سے اشارہ فرما رہے تھے میں نے آپ کو یہ فرماتے ہوئے سنا کہ مسلمان مسلمان کا بھائی ہوتا ہے وہ اس پر ظلم کرتا ہے اور نہ اسے بےیارومددگار چھوڑتا ہے تقوی یہاں ہوتا ہے تقوی یہاں ہوتا ہے یعنی دل میں۔
Banu Sulayt ke aik sheikh se marvi hai ki aik martaba main Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki khidmat mein apne un qaidion ke mutalliq guftagu karne ke liye hazir hua jo zamanah jahiliyat mein pakde liye gaye the us waqt Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) tashreef farma the aur logon ne halqa bana kar aap ko gher rakha tha Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne aik moti tehband bandh rakhi thi Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) apni ungliyon se ishara farma rahe the main ne aap ko ye farmate huye suna ki Musalman Musalman ka bhai hota hai wo us par zulm karta hai aur na use bayaromaddaar chhorta hai taqwa yahan hota hai taqwa yahan hota hai yani dil mein.
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْمُبَارَكُ بْنُ فَضَالَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ ، أَخْبَرَنِي شَيْخٌ مَنْ بَنِي سَلِيطٍ، قَالَ: أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أُكَلِّمُهُ فِي سَبْيٍ أُصِيبَ لَنَا فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ، فَإِذَا هُوَ يُحَدِّثُ الْقَوْمَ، وَحَلْقَةٌ قَدْ أَطَافَتْ بِهِ، فَإِذَا هُوَ قَاعِدٌ عَلَيْهِ إِزَارُ قِطْرٍ لَهُ غَلِيظٌ، أَوَّلُ شَيْءٍ سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْهُ يَقُولُ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ بِيَدِهِ هَكَذَا، وَأَشَارَ الْمُبَارَكُ بِإِصْبَعِهِ السَّبَّابَةِ " الْمُسْلِمُ أَخُو الْمُسْلِمِ، لَا يَظْلِمُهُ وَلَا يَخْذُلُهُ، التَّقْوَى هَاهُنَا، التَّقْوَى هَاهُنَا"، أَيْ فِي الْقَلْبِ .
