Abu Ala said: I was sitting with Mutraf in the camel market when a villager came with a piece of leather in his hand. He said, “Does any one of you know how to read?” I said, “Yes,” and took the piece of leather from him. On it was written: “In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. From Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah, to Banu Zuhayr bin Uqaysh, a clan of 'Ukl. If they testify to the One-Fifth of the booty being the share of the Prophet (peace be upon him) and to the choice (of the rest of the booty), they will be under the protection of Allah and His Messenger.” Somebody asked the villager, "Did you hear something from the Prophet (peace be upon him) that you can narrate to us?" He said, "Yes." The people said, "Then narrate it to us, may Allah have mercy on you." He said, "I heard the Prophet (peace be upon him) saying: 'He who wants to be relieved from the malice of his heart should fast the month of Ramadan and three days every month.'" Someone asked him, "Did you actually hear this Hadith from the Prophet (peace be upon him) yourself?" He said, "I did not think that you would accuse me of attributing falsehood to the Prophet (peace be upon him). By Allah, I will never narrate to you any Hadith after today.” Then he went away.

ابوعلاء کہتے ہیں کہ میں اونٹوں کی منڈی میں مطرف کے ساتھ بیٹھا تھا ایک دیہاتی آیا اس کے پاس ایک چمڑے کا ایک ٹکڑا تھا وہ کہنے لگا کہ تم میں سے کوئی شخص پڑھناجانتا ہے میں نے کہا ہاں اور اس سے وہ چمڑے کا ٹکڑا لے لیا اس پر لکھا تھا بسم اللہ الرحمن الرحیم، محمد رسول اللہ کی طرف سے بنوزہیرہ بن اقیش کے نام جو عکل کا ایک قبیلہ ہے وہ اگر غنیمت میں خمس کا نبی ﷺ کے حصے اور انتخاب کا اقرار کرتے ہیں تو وہ اللہ اور اس کے رسول کی امان میں ہیں کسی نے اس دیہاتی سے پوچھا کیا آپ نے نبی ﷺ سے کوئی ایسی چیز سنی ہے جو آپ ہم سے بیان کرسکیں اس نے کہا جی ہاں لوگوں نے کہا کہ اس سے کہا کہ پھر ہمیں بھی سنا دیجیے اللہ آپ پر رحم فرمائے انہوں نے کہا کہ میں نے نبی ﷺ کو یہ فرماتے ہوئے سنا ہے کہ جو شخص یہ چاہتا ہے کہ اس کے سینے کا کینہ ختم ہوجائے تو اسے چاہیے کہ وہ ماہ صبر رمضان اور ہر مہینے میں تین دن روزرے رکھا کرے کسی نے اس سے پوچھا کہ کیا واقعی آپ نے یہ حدیث خود نبی ﷺ سے سنی ہے انہوں نے کہا میں نہیں سمجھتا تھا کہ تم مجھے نبی ﷺ پر جھوٹ باندھنے سے مہتم کرو گے واللہ آج کے بعد میں کبھی تم سے کوئی حدیث بیان نہیں کروں گا پھر وہ چلے گئے۔
Abu Ala kehte hain ki mein oonton ki mandi mein Mutraf ke sath betha tha ek dehati aaya uske paas ek chamere ka ek tukda tha woh kehne laga ki tum mein se koi shakhs parhna janta hai maine kaha haan aur usse woh chamere ka tukda le liya us par likha tha Bismillah hirRahman nirRahim Muhammadur Rasulullah ki taraf se Banu Zuhairah bin Aqeash ke naam jo Aqal ka ek qabila hai woh agar Ghanimat mein khums ka Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke hisse aur intekhab ka iqrar karte hain to woh Allah aur uske Rasul ki amaan mein hain kisi ne is dehati se poocha kya aap ne Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se koi aisi cheez suni hai jo aap hum se bayan kar sakte hain usne kaha ji haan logon ne kaha ki usse kaha ki phir humein bhi suna dijiye Allah aap par reham farmaye unhon ne kaha ki maine Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko ye farmate hue suna hai ki jo shakhs ye chahta hai ki uske seene ka kina khatam ho jaye to use chahie ki woh mah Sabr Ramzan aur har mahine mein teen din rozay rakha kare kisi ne usse poocha ki kya waqai aap ne ye hadees khud Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se suni hai unhon ne kaha mein nahi samjhta tha ki tum mujhe Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) par jhoot bandhne se mehtam karoge Wallah aaj ke baad mein kabhi tumse koi hadees bayan nahin karunga phir woh chale gaye.
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْجُرَيْرِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ الشِّخِّيرِ ، قَالَ: كُنْتُ مَعَ مُطَرِّفٍ فِي سُوقِ الْإِبِلِ، فَجَاءَهُ أَعْرَابِيٌّ مَعَهُ قِطْعَةُ أَدِيمٍ، أَوْ جِرَابٍ، فَقَالَ مَنْ يَقْرَأُ، أَوَفِيكُمْ مَنْ يَقْرَأُ؟ قُلْتُ: نَعَمْ، فَأَخَذْتُهُ فَإِذَا فِيهِ " بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ، مِنْ مُحَمَّدٍ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ، لِبَنِي زُهَيْرِ بْنِ أُقَيْشٍ حَيٍّ مِنْ عُكْلٍ أَنَّهُمْ إِنْ شَهِدُوا أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ، وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ، وَفَارَقُوا الْمُشْرِكِينَ، وَأَقَرُّوا بِالْخُمُسِ فِي غَنَائِمِهِمْ، وَسَهْمِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَصَفِيَّهُ، فَإِنَّهُمْ آمِنُونَ بِأَمَانِ اللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ" . فَقَالَ لَهُ بَعْضُ الْقَوْمِ هَلْ سَمِعْتَ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ شَيْئًا تُحَدِّثُنَاهُ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ، قَالُوا: فَحَدِّثْنَا رَحِمَكَ اللَّهُ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ: " مَنْ سَرَّهُ أَنْ يَذْهَبَ كَثِيرٌ مِنْ وَحَرِ صَدْرِهِ فَلْيَصُمْ شَهْرَ الصَّبْرِ، وَثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ"، فَقَالَ لَهُ الْقَوْمُ أَوْ بَعْضُهُمْ: أَأَنْتَ سَمِعْتَ هَذَا مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ؟ فَقَالَ: أَلَا أُرَاكُمْ تَتَّهِمُونِي أَنْ أَكْذِبَ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ؟! وَقَالَ إِسْمَاعِيلُ مَرَّةً تَخَافُونَ، وَاللَّهِ لَا حَدَّثْتُكُمْ حَدِيثًا سَائِرَ الْيَوْمِ، ثُمَّ انْطَلَقَ .
