It is narrated on the authority of Saad bin Ubadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that when his mother passed away, he asked the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), "O Messenger of Allah! My mother has passed away. Can I give charity on her behalf?" The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) replied, "Yes!" He asked, "Then which charity is the best?" The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) replied, "Providing water." The narrator says that this is the reason why the people of the tribe of Saad were known for providing water in Madinah.

حضرت سعد بن عبادہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ ان کی والدہ فوت ہوئیں تو انہوں نے نبی کریم ﷺ سے عرض کیا یا رسول اللہ! میری والدہ فوت ہوگئی ہیں کیا میں ان کی طرف سے صدقہ کرسکتا ہوں؟ نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا ہاں! انہوں نے پوچھا کہ پھر کون سا صدقہ سب سے افضل ہے؟ نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا پانی پلانا، راوی کہتے ہیں کہ مدینہ منورہ میں آل سعد کے پانی پلانے کی اصل وجہ یہی ہے۔
Hazrat Saad bin Ubaada RA se marvi hai keh un ki walida foot hoien to unhon ne Nabi Kareem SAW se arz kiya Ya Rasulullah meri walida foot hogai hain kya main un ki taraf se sadqa kar sakta hun Nabi Kareem SAW ne farmaya Haan Unhon ne poocha keh phir kaun sa sadqa sab se afzal hai Nabi Kareem SAW ne farmaya pani pilana Ravi kehte hain keh Madina Munawara mein Aal Saad ke pani pilane ki asal wajah yahi hai
Sa'd ibn 'Ubada (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that once he came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said, “My mother has passed away, and she had vowed something. Will it suffice if I free a slave on her behalf?” The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “Yes, you can free a slave on behalf of your mother.”

حضرت سعد بن عبادہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ وہ نبی کریم ﷺ کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوئے اور عرض کیا کہ میری والدہ فوت ہوگئی ہیں انہوں نے منت مان رکھی تھی کیا ان کی طرف سے میرا کسی غلام کو آزاد کرنا کفایت کر جائے گا؟ نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا تم اپنی والدہ کی طرف سے غلام آزاد کرسکتے ہو۔
Hazrat Saad bin Abada RA se marvi hai keh aik martaba woh Nabi Kareem SAW ki khidmat mein hazir hue aur arz kya keh meri walida fout hogayi hain unhon ne mannat maan rakhi thi kya un ki taraf se mera kisi gulam ko azad karna kafiyat kar jaye ga? Nabi Kareem SAW ne farmaya tum apni walida ki taraf se gulam azad kar sakte ho.
It was narrated from Sa'd bin 'Abadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "This tribe of Ansar is a test, meaning love for them is a sign of faith and hatred for them is a sign of hypocrisy."

حضرت سعد بن عبادہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے ارشاد فرمایا انصار کا یہ قبیلہ ایک آزمائش ہے یعنی ان سے محبت ایمان کی علامت ہے اور ان سے نفرت نفاق کی علامت ہے۔
