It is narrated on the authority of Sufiyan bin Abi Zuhair (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “Whoever keeps a dog that is not kept for the protection of crops, hunting or livestock, his reward will be diminished by one Qirat every day.” Saib (narrator of the Hadith) says, “I asked Sufiyan (may Allah be pleased with him), ‘Did you hear this Hadith directly from the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)?’ He replied, ‘Yes, by the Lord of this Masjid.’”

حضرت سفیان بن ابی زہیر رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے ارشاد فرمایا جو لوگ بھی اپنے یہاں کتے کو رکھتے ہیں جو کھیت، شکار یا ریوڑ کی حفاظت کے لئے نہ ہو، ان کے اجروثواب سے روزانہ ایک قیراط کی کمی ہوتی رہتی ہے، سائب کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے حضرت سفیان رضی اللہ عنہ سے پوچھا کہ کیا آپ نے براہ راست یہ حدیث نبی کریم ﷺ سے سنی ہے؟ انہوں نے فرمایا ہاں! اس مسجد کے رب کی قسم۔

It is narrated on the authority of Sufian bin Abi Zuhair (may Allah be pleased with him) that when they reached the valley of Aqeeq, once his horse became unable to walk or move. He was among the army that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had sent. He returned to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and requested a ride. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) went out with him in search of a camel, but could not find one anywhere. However, he saw a camel with Abu Jahm bin Huzaifa Advi. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) rushed towards him, but Abu Jahm submitted, "O Messenger of Allah! I will not sell it to you, but you may take it and let whomever you wish ride it." According to him, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) took the camel from Abu Jahm. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) left from there. When he reached Bir Ahab, he said, according to him, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Soon tall and lofty buildings will reach this place too and Sham will be conquered. Some people of this city will go there, and they will like its prosperity and climate. Although, if they only knew, Madinah would have been better for them. Then Iraq will also be conquered, and a nation will spread. They will ride with their families and those who obey them. Although, if they only knew, Madinah would have been better for them. Ibrahim (peace be upon him) prayed for the people of Makkah, and I pray to Allah Almighty to bless our Sa'a and Mudd just as He blessed the people of Makkah."

حضرت سفیان بن ابی زہیر رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ وادی عقیق میں پہنچ کر ایک مرتبہ ان کا گھوڑا چلنے پھرنے سے عاجز ہوگیا وہ اس لشکر میں شامل تھے جو نبی کریم ﷺ نے روانہ فرمایا تھا وہ نبی کریم ﷺ کے پاس سواری کی درخواست لے کر واپس آئے نبی کریم ﷺ ان کے ساتھ اونٹ کی تلاش میں نکلے لیکن کہیں سے اونٹ نہ مل سکا، البتہ ابو جہم بن حذیفہ عدوی کے پاس ایک اونٹ نظر آیا نبی کریم ﷺ نے اس سے بھاؤ تاؤ کیا لیکن ابوجہم نے عرض کیا یا رسول اللہ! میں اسے آپ کے ہاتھ فروخت تو نہیں کرتا البتہ آپ اسے لے جائیے اور جسے چاہیں اس پر سوار ہونے کی اجازت دے دیں ان کے بقول نبی کریم ﷺ نے وہ اونٹ ابوجہم سے لے لیا پھر نبی کریم ﷺ وہاں سے نکلے، جب بئر اہاب پر پہنچے تو ان کے بقول نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا عنقریب بلند وبالا عمارتیں اس جگہ تک بھی پہنچ جائیں گی اور شام فتح ہوجائے گا اس شہر کے کچھ لوگ وہاں جائیں گے تو انہیں وہاں کی شادابی اور آب وہوا خوب پسند آئے گی، حالانکہ اگر انہیں پتہ ہوتا تو مدینہ ہی ان کے لئے بہتر تھا، پھر عراق بھی فتح ہوجائے گا اور ایک قوم پھیل جائے گی وہ اپنے اہل خانہ اور اپنی بات ماننے والوں کو لے کر سوار ہوجائیں گے حالانکہ اگر انہیں پتہ ہوتا تو مدینہ ہی ان کے لئے بہتر تھا، حضرت ابراہیم علیہ السلام نے مکہ مکرمہ میں رہنے والوں کے لئے دعاء مانگی تھی اور میں اللہ تعالیٰ سے یہ دعاء کرتا ہوں کہ وہ ہمارے صاع اور مد میں اسی طرح برکت عطاء فرمائے جیسے اہل مکہ کو عطاء فرمائی ہے۔
Hazrat Sufiyan bin Abi Zaheer (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki Wadi Aqeek mein pahunch kar ek martaba un ka ghora chalne phirne se aajiz hogaya woh is lashkar mein shamil the jo Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne rawana farmaya tha woh Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke pass sawari ki darkhwast lekar wapas aaye Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) un ke sath unt ki talash mein nikle lekin kahin se unt na mil saka, albatta Abu Jahm bin Huzayfah Advi ke pass ek unt nazar aaya Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne us se bhaoo taoo kiya lekin Abu Jahm ne arz kiya Ya Rasulullah mein ise aap ke hath farokht to nahi karta albatta aap ise le jaiye aur jise chahein is par sawar hone ki ijazat de dein un ke baqol Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne woh unt Abu Jahm se le liya phir Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) wahan se nikle, jab Bir Ahab par pahunche to un ke baqol Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya anqareeb buland o bala imaraten is jagah tak bhi pahunch jayengi aur Sham fatah hojaayega is sheher ke kuch log wahan jayenge to unhen wahan ki shadabi aur aab o hawa khoob pasand aayegi, halanki agar unhen pata hota to Madina hi un ke liye behtar tha, phir Iraq bhi fatah hojaayega aur ek qaum phail jayegi woh apne ahl khana aur apni baat maanane walon ko lekar sawar hojayeinge halanki agar unhen pata hota to Madina hi un ke liye behtar tha, Hazrat Ibrahim Alaihissalam ne Makkah Mukarramah mein rehne walon ke liye dua maangi thi aur mein Allah Taala se ye dua karta hun ki woh hamare sa'a aur mud mein isi tarah barkat ata farmaye jaise ahl Makkah ko ata farmaee hai.
It is narrated by Sufian bin Abi Zaheer (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saying that Yemen will soon be conquered. Some people of this city will go there and they will like its greenery and climate, although if they knew, Madinah would have been better for them. Then Sham will also be conquered and a nation will spread. They will ride with their families and those who obey them, although if they knew, Madinah would have been better for them.

حضرت سفیان بن ابی زہیر رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ کو یہ فرماتے ہوئے سنا ہے کہ عنقریب یمن فتح ہوجائے گا اس شہر کے کچھ لوگ وہاں جائیں گے تو انہیں وہاں کی شادابی اور آب وہوا خوب پسند آئے گی، حالانکہ اگر انہیں پتہ ہوتا تو مدینہ ہی ان کے لئے بہتر تھا، پھر شام بھی فتح ہوجائے گا اور ایک قوم پھیل جائے گی، وہ اپنے اہل خانہ اور اپنی بات ماننے والوں کو لے کر سوار ہوجائیں گے حالانکہ اگر انہیں پتہ ہوتا تو مدینہ ہی ان کے لئے بہتر تھا۔
Hazrat Sufiyan bin Abi Zaheer Radi Allaho Anho se marvi hai keh Nabi Kareem Sallallaho Alaihe Wasallam ko yeh farmate hue suna hai keh anqareeb Yemen fatah hojaye ga is shehar ke kuch log wahan jayenge to unhen wahan ki shadabi aur aab o hawa khoob pasand aye gi halanke agar unhen pata hota to Madina hi un ke liye behtar tha phir Sham bhi fatah hojaye ga aur ek qaum phail jaye gi wo apne ahl e khana aur apni baat man'ne walon ko lekar sawar hojayege halanke agar unhen pata hota to Madina hi un ke liye behtar tha.

Saib said, "I asked Sufian, may Allah be pleased with him, 'Did you hear this Hadith directly from the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)?' He replied, 'Yes, by the Lord of this Masjid!'"
