Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 10007
It is narrated in the previous Hadith that Saad bin Ubadah (may Allah be pleased with him) asked, "O Messenger of Allah! If I see a strange man with my wife in an inappropriate state, should I leave him and first bring four witnesses?" The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Yes!" (Later this ruling was changed with the ruling of Li'an, the details of which are mentioned in the first Ruku' of Surah Nur).

گزشتہ سند ہی سے مروی ہے کہ حضرت سعد بن عبادہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے عرض کیا یا رسول اللہ ﷺ اگر میں اپنی بیوی کے ساتھ کسی اجنبی آدمی کو نامناسب حالت میں دیکھوں تو کیا اسے چھوڑ کر پہلے چار گواہ تلاش کرکے لاؤں؟ نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا ہاں! (بعد میں یہ حکم لعان کے ساتھ تبدیل ہو گیا جس کی تفصیل سورت نور کے پہلے رکوع میں کی گئی ہے)
Guzishta sanad hi se marvi hai ke Hazrat Saad bin Ubadah razi Allah anhu ne arz kiya Ya Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) agar mein apni biwi ke sath kisi ajnabi aadmi ko نامناسب halat mein dekhon to kya use chhor kar pehle chaar gawah talaash karkay laaun? Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya Haan! (baad mein ye hukm lian ke sath tabdeel ho gaya jis ki tafseel Surah Noor ke pehle rukuh mein ki gayi hai).
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ ، قََالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنِ أَبِيهِ ، عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , أَنَّ سَعْدَ بْنَ عُبَادَةَ، قََالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، " إِنْ وَجَدْتُ مَعَ امْرَأَتِي رَجُلًا أُمْهِلُهُ حَتَّى آتِيَ بِأَرْبَعَةِ شُهَدَاءَ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ" .
