Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 10220
It is narrated on the authority of Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: It is better for a man's stomach to be filled with pus until he is satisfied than to be filled with poetry.

حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا کسی آدمی کا پیٹ پیپ سے اتنا بھر جائے کہ وہ سیراب ہوجائے اس سے بہتر ہے کہ وہ شعر سے بھرپور ہو۔
Hazrat Abu Hurairah razi Allah anhu se marvi hai keh Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya kisi aadmi ka pet paep se itna bhar jaaye keh woh serab hojaaye us se behtar hai keh woh shehar se bharpoor ho.
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، قََالَ: حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ . وَأَبُو أَحْمَدَ , قََالَ: حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ ذَكْوَانَ ، عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: " لَأَنْ يَمْتَلِئَ جَوْفُ أَحَدِكُمْ قَيْحًا حَتَّى يَرِيَهُ، خَيْرٌ لَهُ مِنْ أَنْ يَمْتَلِئَ شِعْرًا"
